Can final year students apply for CIL MT 2026?+

Yes. Candidates studying in the final semester/year/trimester of academic year 2025-26 of the minimum required qualification may apply — provided they expect their results by 31 August 2026. They must upload all marksheets completed to date at the time of application. At Document Verification, they must produce the final degree certificate with the required minimum percentage. If they do not meet the 60% threshold (or 55% for SC/ST/PwBD) in the final result, their candidature will be cancelled.

Is an MCA alone (without BCA/BSc IT/CS) eligible for the System discipline?+

The notification states the System discipline (Post Code 14) requires a "Recognised 1st Class Degree in BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/IT OR any 1st Class Degree with MCA". This means MCA combined with any first class degree is acceptable — not restricted to only BCA/BSc (IT/CS). However, the term "1st Class" applies to both the MCA and the underlying graduation degree. Candidates should verify that their underlying degree also qualifies as "1st Class" as per their university's definition, not just 60%.

Where will CIL Management Trainees be posted after selection?+

Management Trainees may be posted anywhere in India at Coal India's subsidiary companies and coalfield areas — including remote coalfield locations in Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, and other states. Only candidates willing to serve anywhere in India should apply. Selected candidates must submit three subsidiary choices in order of preference, but the final posting decision rests entirely with CIL Management based on vacancy availability — their decision is final and binding.
