The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) conducts the Primary School Teacher Selection Test (PSTST) to recruit eligible candidates for teaching positions in government primary schools across Madhya Pradesh. This examination is one of the most important teacher recruitment tests in the state, aimed at ensuring that only qualified and skilled individuals are appointed to educate young children at the foundational level. The PSTST plays a vital role in improving the standard of primary education by selecting teachers who possess both academic knowledge and a strong understanding of child-centered teaching methods.

To apply for the MPESB PSTST, candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria. They should hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university and must have completed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). Additionally, candidates are required to have qualified the Madhya Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (MPTET), which ensures that they meet the professional standards for teaching in state-run schools.

The PSTST examination pattern generally includes objective-type questions that test various aspects of teaching and general awareness. The syllabus covers Child Development and Pedagogy, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, General Knowledge, and Languages (Hindi and English). These subjects are designed to assess a candidate’s teaching aptitude, subject understanding, and ability to handle classroom situations effectively.

Once the written exam is completed, candidates who score above the cutoff marks are called for document verification. Based on their performance and eligibility, a final merit list is prepared. Those who successfully clear all stages are appointed as Primary School Teachers in government schools across different districts of Madhya Pradesh.

The selected teachers receive a respectable salary package, usually ranging between ₹25,000 to ₹30,000 per month, along with additional allowances and job security as per government norms. Beyond financial benefits, the role provides an opportunity to make a real difference in children’s lives, shaping their learning journey and moral development during the most crucial years of education.

In conclusion, the MPESB Primary School Teacher Selection Test (PSTST) is not just a competitive exam but a gateway to a meaningful and stable career in the field of education. It allows aspiring teachers to serve society, contribute to the growth of rural and urban education, and support the government’s mission of providing quality education to every child in Madhya Pradesh. Those who are passionate about teaching and community development find the PSTST an ideal platform to build a rewarding career while nurturing the next generation of learners.
