Total 3,518 vacancies have announced across  different workshops and divisions of southern railway.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 25 September 2025)

  • Minimum : 15 Years
  • Maximum : 22 Years
  • Maximum age for EX-ITI/MLT : 24 Years
  • Relaxation : SC/ST candidates get 5 Years, OBC Candidates get 3 Years and PwBD candidates up to 10 years.
Educational Qualification

  1. For Fresher (10th Standard) : Matriculation with at least 50% marks.
  2. For MLT Category : 12th Class with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology)
  3. For EX-ITI Candidates : 10 th with ITI in relevant trade

Stipend Details

  • 10th Pass : ₹ 6000 PM
  • 12th Pass (Science) : ₹ 7000 pm
  • ITI : ₹ 7000 PM

The Southern Railway (SR) is one of the 19 zones of Indian Railways, headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Purpose of the Apprenticeship Programme

The Apprenticeship Training Scheme under Southern Railway is conducted in accordance with the Apprentices Act, 1961, and the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.
