Selection Process
Stage-wise selection & merit determination
1

Stage-1: Stenography Proficiency Test — Post Code 12/26 (PA Only, Qualifying)

Dictation at 80 WPM for 5 minutes + 45-minute transcription on computer in English. Permissible errors: 8% General, 10% APST. Qualifying only — failure disqualifies from Stage-2 for PA post. Tentatively 4th week of April 2026. Further details notified separately by APSSB.

Stage-2: Written Examination — All Posts (Merit Basis)

Objective MCQ: 100 questions × 2 marks = 200 marks, 2 hours. Four sections of 25 questions (50 marks each). No negative marking. No sectional cut-off. Minimum 33% aggregate to be eligible for selection. Tentatively 31 May 2026 (Sunday) at 12 centres.

Document Verification

Provisionally shortlisted candidates must upload copies of required documents on the APSSB portal when notified, and produce originals + photocopies + admit card + online application printout at Document Verification. Information in certificates not claimed in application form will not be considered.

Final Merit List & Appointment by Appointing Authority

APSSB prepares merit list based on Written Exam marks only, as per candidate's order of preference, and recommends to indenting departments. The Appointing Authority (indenting/user department) verifies documents per Recruitment Rules and makes final appointment. Provisional selection does not confer any right to appointment.

  • No arrangements for keeping/security of gadgets at the centre.
  • Use of offensive/abusive/foul language or obscene picture = penal action under the IT Act.
