The call letter must be downloaded exclusively from the official High Court portal. Do not rely on any third-party site for downloading. Use a desktop or laptop — the official portal is not designed for mobile browsers and may not function correctly on smartphones or tablets.
Open the Official Portal on Desktop or Laptop
Launch Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox on your desktop or laptop. Navigate to https://assistant.jhc.org.in — this is the sole official portal for the Jharkhand Civil Courts Assistant/Clerk recruitment. Do NOT use a mobile phone or tablet, as the website is explicitly restricted to computer browsers and the PDF download may fail on mobile devices.
Click on the "Login" Link
On the homepage, you will see the official notice about the call letter availability. Click the "Login" button or navigate directly to https://assistant.jhc.org.in/login. This takes you to the candidate login portal where you will authenticate using your registered credentials.
Enter Your Registered Login Credentials
Enter your Application/Registration Number and Password / Date of Birth as registered at the time of your original online application (April–May 2024). If you have forgotten your login details, look for a "Forgot Password" or "Forgot Registration Number" option on the login page. Do not enter credentials on any unofficial website — always verify the URL shows assistant.jhc.org.in.
Locate and Download the Call Letter PDF
After logging in, your dashboard will display the call letter download option. Click "Download Call Letter" or the equivalent button for the Computer Skill Test, Document Verification, and Interview. Your call letter will open in PDF format. Save it to your device. Verify all printed details immediately — name, roll number, exam date, venue, and reporting time — before taking a printout.
Print on A4 Size — Carry Hard Copy Mandatory
Print the call letter on A4 size paper with clear, legible text and photograph. Black and white printing is generally acceptable — ensure the photo is clearly visible. Take 2–3 printouts as backup copies. A hard copy is mandatory for entry at the examination/interview venue — digital copies on phone are not accepted. Paste a passport-size photograph on the call letter if there is a designated space for it.
Check All Details Carefully Before Proceeding
Cross-verify every field on the call letter: Full Name (must match Matriculation certificate and ID proof), Roll Number, Date & Time of Computer Skill Test, Date of Document Verification, Interview Date and Venue, and Photograph. If you notice any discrepancy, contact the helpdesk at 91-9289979456 or email helpdesk@jhc.org.in well before the exam date — not on the day itself.
The recruitment process spans three consecutive days — 11, 12, and 13–19 April 2026. Each stage has specific requirements for documents and conduct. Plan your document folder carefully and carry all originals along with self-attested photocopies.
✅ MUST CARRY — All Three Stages
Printed Call Letter (A4 Size — Hard Copy)
A clearly printed copy of the official call letter downloaded from assistant.jhc.org.in. Digital display on phone is NOT accepted. Carry multiple copies. Paste photograph if space is provided.
Original Photo Identity Proof
Any one government-issued photo ID — Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Passport, Driving Licence, or PAN Card. The name on the ID must exactly match the name on your call letter and application form.
Passport-Size Photographs (4–6 copies)
Recent photographs identical to the one submitted in the application form. These are required at the Computer Skill Test attendance sheet, Document Verification, and Interview stages. Carry more than you think you need.
📂 DOCUMENT VERIFICATION (12 April 2026) — Originals + Self-Attested Copies
Matriculation (Class 10th) Certificate & Marksheet
As proof of date of birth. Name on the Matriculation certificate is the name that will be used in all official records — must match application form exactly. If DOB is not on certificate, carry the marksheet too.
Graduation Certificate / Provisional Certificate
Original degree certificate or provisional certificate from a recognised university. This is the minimum educational qualification for the post. Carry both the original and a self-attested photocopy.
Computer Diploma/Certificate (DCA or Equivalent — Min. 6 Months)
Original certificate of Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) or any higher computer degree/diploma of at least 6 months duration from a recognised institute. This is a mandatory eligibility document.
Jharkhand Residential Certificate (Domicile)
In the prescribed format per Government of Jharkhand letter No. 4650 dated 02.06.2016 (if issued on/after that date, issued by Sub-Divisional Officer) or as per letter No. 5752 dated 19.07.2019 (issued by Circle Officer). Reservation benefits are only for Jharkhand domicile candidates — out-of-state reserved category candidates are treated as UR.
Caste Certificate (SC / ST / BC-I / BC-II / EWS — if applicable)
In the prescribed format as per state government norms. For certificates issued on/after 25.02.2019, the format as per letter No. 1754 dated 25.02.2019 (Circle Officer level) applies. Non-creamy layer certificate required separately for BC-I and BC-II candidates. EWS certificate in the prescribed format.
Disability Certificate (PwD candidates)
Certificate from Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon in prescribed format showing minimum 40% disability. PwD candidates are exempted from examination fee and entitled to scribe and extra time facilities.

NOC from Employer (Government Employees)
A scanned/original No Objection Certificate from the employer if currently serving in any government institution or public sector undertaking.
- Your name, date of birth, and father's name must be entered in the application exactly as they appear on your Matriculation (Class 10th) certificate — any mismatch discovered at any stage leads to immediate cancellation of candidature
- The High Court has made it clear that corrections to the application form are not entertained after final submission — ensure your original certificates match your application data
- If your name appears differently across certificates (e.g., initials expanded in graduation but not in Matric), carry an affidavit or gazette notification clarifying the variation
| Stage | Subject / Nature | Marks | Duration | Qualifying Marks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stage 1: Written Test | Group I: General English (30 Marks) + Group II: General Knowledge — Objective (30 Marks) + Group III: Numerical Ability & Reasoning including Maths of Matric standard (30 Marks) | 90 | 2 Hours | UR/EWS/BC-I/BC-II: 40% (36 marks) | SC/ST: 30% (27 marks) |
| Stage 2: Computer Skill Test | Type a passage of 100 words at 20 WPM and save at a specified location on the computer — qualifying in nature | Qualifying | 5 Minutes | Must achieve minimum typing speed of 20 words per minute to qualify |
| Stage 3: Interview | Personal Interview — tests communication skills, general awareness, subject knowledge, and suitability for the clerical role in judicial courts | 15 | As per panel schedule | Minimum 5 marks (all categories) |
| Total (Written + Interview) | 105 Marks | — | Merit list prepared on combined score | |
- The Computer Skill Test is purely qualifying — it does not add marks to your merit score. Failing it disqualifies you from the Interview regardless of written test performance
- The final merit list is based on Written Test marks (90) + Interview marks (15) = 105 marks total
- Candidates must independently qualify each stage — clearing the written test does not guarantee CST/Interview qualification, and CST must be cleared to appear for the Interview
- The Interview minimum qualifying mark is 5 marks out of 15 for all categories — candidates scoring below this threshold are not considered for final selection even if their aggregate is high
- In case of a tie in total marks, the High Court's tiebreaking criteria (typically age, then higher academic qualification) will apply as per their internal rules
The Written Test has already been conducted. This syllabus is provided for reference so shortlisted candidates understand the scope of knowledge tested, which is also relevant for the Interview stage — interviewers often explore the same subject areas in a verbal format.
- Candidates will be given a pre-defined passage of 100 words to type on the computer
- The passage must be typed within 5 minutes — this corresponds to 20 words per minute, the minimum speed required
- After typing, candidates must save the file at the specific location designated by the invigilator on the computer — failure to save properly may result in non-qualification
- The test is conducted in English — practice English typing on a standard keyboard layout before the test
- Accuracy matters too — excessive errors may affect the evaluation even if speed is met. Practice on platforms like TypingTest.com or 10FastFingers.com in the days before 11 April
- Use standard desktop typing skills — special characters, formatting, and shortcuts are generally not tested, but knowing Ctrl+S for saving is essential
The Interview carries 15 marks with a minimum qualifying threshold of 5 marks. For a clerical position in the Civil Courts of Jharkhand, the panel typically evaluates candidates on communication clarity, basic legal awareness, computer knowledge, and overall composure. Here is a structured preparation guide.

Basic Knowledge of Indian Judicial System
Understand the hierarchy of courts — Supreme Court, High Courts, District Courts, and Civil Courts. Know what Civil Courts handle (civil disputes, property, family matters, contracts) versus Criminal Courts. The panel is from the judiciary — basic court awareness is expected.
Computer Knowledge — Be Ready to Discuss
You will likely be asked about your computer skills, which software you can operate (MS Office, Word, Excel), your typing experience, and your DCA or computer diploma. Be specific about what you have learned — general answers like "I know computers" are insufficient.
Current Affairs — Last 6 Months
Focus on national current affairs, Jharkhand state news, and judicial/legal developments. Read a Hindi or English newspaper daily until your interview date. Know the current Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, recent landmark Supreme Court decisions, and Jharkhand government initiatives.
Communication & Composure
The interview panel assesses your clarity of expression and confidence. Speak at a measured pace — do not rush. If you do not know an answer, say so honestly rather than guessing. A calm, composed demeanor suits the judicial environment and creates a positive impression.
Dress Code — Formal Attire Mandatory
Court premises require formal dress. For men: formal trousers, full-sleeve shirt, tie (preferred), and formal shoes. For women: saree, salwar suit, or formal western wear — nothing casual. First impressions in a court setting matter significantly — dress as if you are already part of the judicial system.
