Minimum age: 21 years as on 01 August 2026 (the exam organisation year). Maximum age is governed by Jharkhand Government rules (Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha Department). Key age relaxations:
- Para Teachers (JEPC) with minimum 2 years continuous service as on notification date (28.03.2026) and currently working: Age relaxation equal to their service period, maximum up to 58 years of age
- All candidates — Gap Year relaxation (One-time): In the interval between the previous JHTET and JHTET 2026, candidates get 1 year’s relaxation for each year of gap minus 1.
