How to Download OSSSC Forest Guard Admission Letter 2026 — Step-by-Step
1

Visit the Official OSSSC Portal — osssc.gov.in

Open your web browser and navigate to the official website of the Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission at osssc.gov.in. This is the only authorised portal for OSSSC recruitment activities — all Admission Letters, notifications, results, and answer keys are published exclusively here. Ensure a stable internet connection before starting, and use only the official URL. The portal is accessible via desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers. 🌳

2

Locate the Admission Letter Download Link for CRE-2025(II)

On the osssc.gov.in homepage, navigate to the Candidate Login section or look under Recruitment News / Latest Notifications / What's New for the link titled: "Release of Admission Letters for Forester, Forest Guard & Excise Constable under CRE-2025(II)" (Notice No. IIE-30/2026-1207/OSSSC dated 09.04.2026). Click on this link — it will redirect you to the candidate login portal where you enter your credentials to access your individual Admission Letter. 🌳

3

Login with Your User ID and Password

On the candidate login page, enter your User ID (assigned during the One-Time Registration process at the time of application) and your Password. Click Submit / Login to access your candidate dashboard. Each candidate has a unique login — the Admission Letter generated is personalised and contains information specific to your registration, including your allocated exam date, shift, and examination centre. Keep your User ID and Password safely stored — you will need them throughout the recruitment process. 🌳

4

Attempt the Mock Test — Strongly Recommended Before Downloading

After login, OSSSC has made a Mock Test available alongside the Admission Letter download — accessible by clicking the "Mock Test" link on the page. OSSSC has specifically advised all candidates to take this Mock Test before the actual examination. The Mock Test helps you understand the CBRE (Computer-Based Recruitment Examination) interface, question navigation system, timer, option selection, and review marking. First-time computer-based test takers especially benefit greatly from this practice run. 🌳

5

Verify All Details on Your Admission Letter Carefully

After the Admission Letter loads, carefully verify every detail: your full name (as per application), date of birth, registration number, post applied for, category, exam date, shift and reporting time, exam centre name and address, photograph, and signature. All the specific details about when and where you must appear are printed only on this document. If any detail appears incorrect — particularly your name, category, or exam centre — contact the OSSSC helpdesk immediately through the official website and do not wait until exam day. 🌳

6

Download PDF, Print 2–3 Copies, and Prepare for Your Exam Day

Download the Admission Letter PDF to your device and take at least 2–3 clear printouts on A4 paper. Carry one to the exam centre — the printout must show your photograph and all text legibly. Store extra copies safely at home. Note that no hard copy of the Admission Letter will be sent to any candidate by post — the downloaded and printed copy is the only valid document. Digital copies on mobile phones are not permitted inside the examination hall. Also keep your valid original Photo ID ready to present alongside the Admission Letter on exam day. 🌳

Mock Test — Don't Skip It: The OSSSC CBRE interface may be unfamiliar to many candidates, especially those from rural areas or those attempting a computer-based exam for the first time. The Mock Test available on the portal faithfully replicates the actual exam environment — including how to navigate between questions, how to mark answers, how to review flagged questions, and how the timer works. Spending just 20–30 minutes on the Mock Test can dramatically reduce anxiety on the actual exam day and help you manage your 90-minute time window more efficiently. 🌳

NormalizationApplied — exam conducted across multiple dates/shifts using multiple question sets; raw scores converted to normalized scores for fair comparison
Written Exam is Stage 1 — Based on normalized merit, candidates shortlisted at 3x vacancies (category-wise) for Physical Test (Stage 2)
🌳 Normalization Explained: Since the OSSSC CBRE exam is conducted across multiple dates and shifts with different question sets, raw scores cannot be directly compared. OSSSC applies a normalization formula to convert raw scores into normalized scores that account for the relative difficulty of each shift's question paper. Your final ranking in the merit list will be based on your normalized score, not your raw marks. This is standard practice for large-scale multi-shift computer-based exams and ensures fairness for all candidates regardless of which shift they appear in. 🌳

For Forest Guard and Forester, the walking test of 25 km in 4 hours (men) demands sustained stamina — practice brisk walking daily.
