KRCL registration closes strictly at 12:00 Noon on both days. Candidates arriving after this time will not be entertained regardless of the reason. Plan to reach at least 30–45 minutes before the deadline. The venue is in Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam — plan your travel accordingly. Do not wait until the last minute given Visakhapatnam's traffic during peak hours.

| ⚠ The consolidated pay is all-inclusive — no separate HRA, DA, or allowances are paid over and above this amount. This is a fixed-term contract role, not a permanent government appointment. The 4% increment is subject to satisfactory performance review by KRCL. | |||
Unlike most government recruitment drives, KRCL's process here is designed to be resolved in a single day's walk-in. There is no online application, no admit card, and no separate written exam date to wait for. You walk in, get your documents checked, and if shortlisted, face a panel interview — all on the same day. A GD or written test is only introduced if the candidate footfall on the day is unusually high.
Step 1 — Document Registration (9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon)
Report to the Administrative Building, Wagon Repair Workshop, Vadlapudi, Visakhapatnam. Carry your filled Annexure-A application form, original documents, and self-attested copies. Registration desk verifies your basic eligibility — age, qualification, and experience — before granting entry to the interview process. No entry after 12:00 Noon.
Step 2 — Group Discussion or Written Test (Only if Required)
If the walk-in turnout on the day is very high for any post, KRCL may conduct a short Group Discussion or a written elimination test to reduce the pool before interviews. This is not guaranteed — it depends entirely on footfall. Either way, it would be same-day and brief in nature.
Step 3 — Personal Interview by KRCL Selection Panel
Shortlisted candidates face a direct personal interview by a nominated KRCL committee. The interview tests practical domain knowledge relevant to the post — workshop operations, electrical maintenance, yard shunting procedures, etc. This stage is the primary differentiator for final selection.
Step 4 — Pre-Joining Medical Examination
Candidates appearing in the final merit list are required to pass a standard medical fitness examination at KRCL's designated hospital or medical centre. The medical decision is final and binding. Only medically cleared candidates receive joining orders.
