OBC-NCL: 18 to 27 years (3 yrs relaxation)
SC / ST: 18 to 29 years (5 yrs relaxation)
PwBD (General): 18 to 34 years
PwBD (OBC-NCL): 18 to 37 years
PwBD (SC/ST): 18 to 39 years
Technician Apprentice → 3-year Diploma in relevant Engineering — min. 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD)
Graduate Apprentice → Full-time Graduation (BA/B.Com/B.Sc/BBA) — min. 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD)
Data Entry Operator → Class 12th — min. 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD)
Trade Apprentices (ITI): Result declared between 01 April 2021 – 28 February 2026
- Candidates with B.E. / B.Tech, MBA, MCA, CA, ICWA, LLB or any higher qualification
- Those who studied through part-time, distance, or correspondence mode
- PwBD candidates are NOT eligible for Discipline Codes 101–111 (only codes 112 & 113 allowed)
- Candidates already undergoing or who have completed apprenticeship training anywhere
- Those whose result was declared outside the specified validity period

Register on NAPS / NATS Portal
Trade Apprentices (ITI) and Data Entry Operators → NAPS (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in). Technician and Graduate Apprentices → NATS (nats.education.gov.in). Must be done before applying.
Submit Microsoft Form — Mandatory Extra Step
After NAPS/NATS registration, candidates must also fill a Microsoft Form with their choice of 3 preferred training locations. This step is compulsory and must be completed before 09 March 2026, 5:00 PM.
Merit List Preparation
A merit list is prepared based purely on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying exam. No written test or interview is held. Higher academic marks = better selection chances.
Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates are called for verification of original certificates — education, category, age proof, and identity documents.
Medical Test & Final Joining
Candidates who clear document verification must pass a pre-engagement medical fitness test. Engagement offer is issued only after clearing all stages.

Q2. What is the age limit for IOCL Apprentice 2026?
General category candidates must be between 18 and 24 years as on 28 February 2026. OBC-NCL candidates can apply up to 27 years, SC/ST up to 29 years, and PwBD candidates get further relaxation up to 34, 37, or 39 years depending on their category.
Q3. Is there a written exam for IOCL Apprentice selection?
No written exam or interview is conducted at any stage. Selection is entirely based on the percentage of marks scored in the qualifying examination — ITI, Diploma, Graduation, or Class 12th. The higher your academic percentage, the better your position on the merit list.
Q4. What is the Microsoft Form and is it compulsory?
Yes, it is compulsory. After registering on NAPS or NATS, every candidate must separately submit a Microsoft Form by 09 March 2026, 5:00 PM, mentioning their NAPS/NATS registration number and choice of 3 training locations. Not submitting this form will result in rejection of the application.
Q5. Can B.Tech or MBA holders apply for IOCL Apprentice 2026?
No. Candidates holding B.E., B.Tech, MBA, MCA, CA, ICWA, LLB or any qualification higher than what is prescribed are not eligible. This apprenticeship program is designed exclusively for ITI, Diploma, basic graduation, and Class 12th pass candidates only.
