Selection Process — From Notification to Final Result

Online Application — June–July 2023 ✅

JPSC released Advt. No. 18/2023 on 02 June 2023 inviting online applications from candidates with specialised science qualifications for 56 Food Safety Officer posts. Applications were submitted online at jpsc.gov.in from 15 June to 14 July 2023 (fee by 17 July 2023). A physical hard copy with self-attested documents was required to be sent to JPSC, Ranchi office. This is standard JPSC protocol for all gazetted post recruitments.

Written Examination — 27 May 2024 ✅

The Written Examination was held on 27 May 2024 with Admit Cards released on 21 May 2024. The exam consisted of two papers — Paper I (General Knowledge, 100 marks) and Paper II (Subject-specific, 100 marks), both objective (MCQ) type, each of 2-hour duration. Total marks: 200. The exam was conducted at designated centres across Jharkhand. After the exam, a Revised Response Sheet was also released for candidates to tally their tentative scores.

Document Verification & Interview — June 2024 ✅

Document Verification (DV) was conducted from 09 to 11 June 2024 and the Personal Interview from 10 to 12 June 2024 at JPSC's office in Ranchi. Candidates called for DV had to present original certificates — educational qualifications, category certificates, Aadhaar, etc. The interview panel assessed subject knowledge, analytical ability, and suitability for the role of a Food Safety Officer in the field. Interview carried 30 marks.

Written Examination Result — 02 February 2026 ✅

After a processing period, JPSC officially released the Written Examination Result on 02 February 2026 at jpsc.gov.in. This result contained the roll numbers of candidates shortlisted from the written test. A total of 128 roll numbers were published across 3 pages of the result PDF, signed by the Secretary, JPSC Ranchi. These candidates were then called for the interview stage via official Interview Call Letters published on the JPSC portal.
