Candidates must hold a Degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) from any University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India, or from an educational institution established by an Act of Parliament, or declared as a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or a Foreign University approved by the Central Government, or possess an equivalent qualification. Your OTR number is the single registration identity for all JPSC recruitments. Keep your OTR credentials safe throughout the application process. 💙

Fill Online Application for Advt. No. 06/2026

After login, find Advertisement No. 06/2026 — State Tax Officer and click Apply. Fill all required fields carefully: personal details, educational qualification, category (SC/BC-II), domicile status, age, reservation claim details. Use the same name spelling as in your Matric certificate. Enter your date of birth exactly as on your 10th Board certificate. Do NOT enter another person's mobile number or email ID. Enter only your own active contact details. 💙

Upload Photo & Signature

Upload a clear, recent coloured passport-size photograph and your scanned signature in the prescribed format and file size at the designated fields in the OTR System. Blurry or unclear uploads will lead to rejection of the application. If a photo or signature is missing at the required field, the application will be automatically rejected. Use a white background photograph taken recently.

Pay Examination Fee Online

Pay the examination fee: ₹100/- for BC-II | ₹50/- for SC (Jharkhand) | Exempted for PwBD (40%+). Payment is accepted via Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking / Wallet / Bharat QR / UPI through the Payment Gateway at the JPSC portal. Submit, Lock & Download Filled Application

Review all entries carefully before final submission. Once you click "Submit & Lock", no changes can be made — the application is final. Immediately after submission, login again and download the "Filled Application Section" from the Dashboard. Print at least 2 copies and keep them safe along with all supporting documents (caste certificate, educational marksheets, fee payment receipt). These will be required at interview time. 💙

For the preparation of the merit list for Mains Written Examination (for shortlisting for Interview), candidates must secure the following minimum qualifying aggregate marks in Papers II–VI combined (Paper I is qualifying-only and not included in aggregate):
  • SC / Female candidates: 32% of aggregate marks in Papers II–VI
  • BC-II candidates: 36.5% of aggregate marks in Papers II–VI
Additionally, a minimum of 30 marks (combined) must be scored in Paper I (General Hindi + General English) — this is a separate qualifying condition.
