The admit card for this exam was released on 24 March 2026 and applications were accepted from 13 March to 6 April 2026.
What is the next step after PSSSB JE Result 2026? +
Candidates who qualify and appear in the merit list are called for Document Verification (DV). The DV schedule will be released on the official PSSSB website sssb.punjab.gov.in. Candidates must appear with all original certificates at the designated venue on the scheduled date. Final appointment is issued after successful DV. Keep monitoring the official website regularly for the DV notice. There is no interview at any stage.
What does "Withheld" status mean in the result PDF? +
"Withheld" status means your candidature was paused due to missing, pending, or disputed documentation in your application. PSSSB issues a separate notice specifically directing withheld candidates to submit the required original documents by a specified deadline. Check sssb.punjab.gov.in regularly for such a notice and follow the instructions promptly — failure to respond by the deadline may result in disqualification.
What does "NA" in Part B marks mean? +
"NA" in the Part B marks column means the candidate did not qualify the Punjabi language qualifying test (Part A). Since Part A is a compulsory qualifying component, candidates who fail it are not evaluated for Part B (technical + GK section), and their marks remain "Not Applicable." These candidates do not appear in the final merit list for selection.
What is the salary for PSSSB Junior Engineer posts? +
PSSSB Junior Engineers are appointed at Pay Level-6 as per the 7th Pay Commission with a starting basic pay of ₹35,400 per month. Yes, Punjabi is absolutely mandatory. Candidates must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or an equivalent Punjabi language qualification recognised by the Punjab Government. Can I apply for multiple JE disciplines? +

However, each discipline requires a completely separate online application with a separate non-refundable fee (₹1,500 for General, ₹750 for SC/BC Punjab, ₹500 for ESM/EWS/PWD/LDESM Punjab). Once an application is submitted, no changes or corrections are permitted.
How long is the PSSSB JE 2026 merit list valid? +

Is there an interview in PSSSB JE selection? +
No. There is no interview at any stage of PSSSB Junior Engineer selection. The entire process consists of only the written CBT examination followed by Document Verification. Final merit ranking and appointment are based purely on written exam performance, category, and tie-breaking rules. This makes the selection fully transparent and objective.
