How to View Answer Key & Raise Objections — Step by Step
1

Visit the Official RRB Login Portal

Open rrb.digialm.com — the same portal you used to download your Admit Card. This link is also available on every regional RRB's official website (rrbchennai.gov.in, rrbranchi.gov.in, rrbmumbai.gov.in etc.). Beware of unofficial or lookalike websites that may steal your credentials.

2

Log In with Your Credentials

Enter your Enrollment Number or Registration Number along with your Date of Birth or Password (as applicable). Complete the security captcha and click Login. Use the exact credentials you created when submitting your application for CEN 05/2025.

3

Locate the Answer Key / Objection Link

Once inside your dashboard, look for the section or link labelled "View Questions, Responses & Keys" or "RRB JE CBT-1 Answer Key 2026". This link is active from 05 March 2026 at 4:00 PM until 11 March 2026 at 11:59 PM. Outside this window, the link will be inactive.

4

Review Your Question Paper, Responses & Keys

You will see your complete question paper, the option you selected for each question, and the official key. Cross-check every question carefully — compare the official answer with your response and with your own reference materials (textbooks, coaching notes). Note down the question numbers where you believe the official key may be incorrect.

5

Select Questions to Object & Pay ₹50 Per Question

Use the objection interface to mark specific questions you wish to challenge. For each question selected, you must pay a fee of ₹50 + applicable bank service charges via RuPay/Credit Card, UPI, or Net Banking. You can raise objections against the question itself, the options, or the official answer key. Provide a clear, logical justification with reference to standard textbooks or authoritative sources.

6

Submit Before 11 March 2026 at 11:59 PM

Complete your objection submission well before the deadline. Once the window closes at 11:59 PM on 11 March 2026, no further objections, representations, or correspondence will be accepted from any candidate under any circumstances. The fee paid for invalid objections is not refunded. The fee for valid objections is returned to the same account used for payment, after deducting applicable bank charges.

⚖️
RRB Decision is Final
All valid objections are reviewed by a panel of subject experts. The RRBs' decision on each objection is final, conclusive, and binding on all candidates. No further appeal, representation, or RTI response will be entertained on questions, options, or keys after this stage.
📌 Tips for Raising Strong Objections
  • Always back your objection with a reference to a standard textbook, official syllabus document, or authoritative publication. Name the book, edition, author, and page number wherever possible.
  • Raise objections only on questions where you are genuinely confident the official key is incorrect — every ₹50 spent on an invalid objection is a direct loss.
  • If a question has a printing error or ambiguous wording, that too is a valid ground for objection — highlight the exact ambiguity clearly.
  • Multiple candidates objecting to the same question independently strengthens the case — but each candidate must still pay and submit separately.
  • If RRBs accept an objection and drop or change a question's key, the final score for all candidates is recalculated accordingly — not just for those who objected.

CBT-1 Exam Pattern — What Was Tested

The CBT-1 for RRB JE CEN 05/2025 was a common screening test for all posts — JE, DMS, and CMA. The pattern below applies to this stage. Understanding it helps you accurately estimate your score against the answer key.

Subject / Section No. of Questions Marks Duration
Mathematics303090 Minutes
(120 min for PwBD with Scribe)
General Intelligence & Reasoning2525
General Awareness1515
General Science3030
Total100100
Negative Marking — 1/3 Per Wrong Answer
For every incorrect answer, 1/3 of a mark is deducted. Unattempted questions carry zero penalty. This means guessing randomly reduces your score. Use this while calculating your estimated score against the answer key — subtract 0.33 for each wrong answer you now identify.
📐
Score Normalisation Applied
Since CBT-1 was conducted across three dates and multiple shifts, normalisation of marks will be applied to equalise difficulty variations across shifts. The final normalised score — not raw marks — will be used for shortlisting to CBT-2 and for the eventual merit list.
⚠️ How to Estimate Your Raw Score: Count the number of questions you answered correctly as per the answer key (+1 each). Then count how many questions you answered incorrectly (−0.33 each). Subtract the negative marks from the correct marks. Unattempted questions = 0. This raw estimate will differ from your final normalised score, but gives a useful benchmark.

CBT-2 Exam Pattern — What Comes Next

Candidates who clear CBT-1 will be shortlisted for the Stage-2 Computer Based Test (CBT-2). Shortlisting is done at a ratio of 1:1 per vacancy per RRB, based on normalised CBT-1 scores. CBT-2 is trade/engineering group-specific and tests deep technical knowledge. The exam groups and patterns are below.

📌 CBT-2 Shortlisting — How It Works
  • Only candidates who clear CBT-1 with a normalised score above the cut-off are eligible for CBT-2. The shortlist is prepared RRB-wise at a ratio of 1 candidate per vacancy (1:1 ratio).
  • Normalised CBT-1 marks are used for shortlisting — not raw marks. Candidates from the same shift are compared using the same normalised score.
  • CBT-2 carries 150 questions with 1/3 negative marking and a 120-minute time limit. It tests both general knowledge and deep trade-specific technical competence.
  • The CMA (Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant) post has a separate exam group with a different subject mix — check the official notification Annexure VII-E for the full CMA syllabus.

Complete Selection Process
1

CBT-1 — Stage 1 Computer Based Test ✅ Done

A 100-question, 100-mark common screening test covering Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science. Held across three dates in February 2026. Negative marking of 1/3 mark applies. Marks are normalised across shifts for fair comparison. Answer Key now released — objection window open till 11 March 2026.

2

CBT-2 — Stage 2 Technical Test (Engineering Group-wise)

A 150-question, 150-mark test with trade-specific technical questions. Shortlisting for CBT-2 is done at a 1:1 ratio per vacancy per RRB, based on CBT-1 normalised marks. Each exam group (Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, CMA) has its own question paper. Duration: 120 minutes with 1/3 negative marking.

3

Document Verification (DV)

Candidates who qualify CBT-2 are shortlisted for in-person Document Verification at a 1:1 ratio of vacancies. All original certificates — educational qualifications, age proof, caste/category certificate, and engineering degree/diploma — must be presented. Eligibility is formally confirmed only at this stage.

4

Medical Examination

Candidates who pass DV undergo a medical examination at a Railway hospital. The medical standard required varies by post as specified in Annexure-A of the official notification. Candidates found medically unfit for the post they have opted for are not offered any alternative post under this CEN.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1
When does the RRB JE Answer Key 2026 objection window close?
+
The window to view your question paper, responses, and official answer key — and to raise fee-based objections — closes on 11 March 2026 at 23:59 hours (11:59 PM). After this time, no objections, representations, or complaints about questions, options, or keys will be entertained by any RRB under any circumstance. The review link itself will also become inactive. Submit your objections at least 2–3 days before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.
Q2
Will I get my ₹50 objection fee back if my objection is accepted?
+
Yes — if an objection you raise is found to be correct and accepted by the RRBs' panel of experts, the ₹50 fee paid for that specific objection is refunded to the same bank account or UPI ID you used for payment. However, applicable bank service charges are deducted before the refund is processed. If your objection is rejected, the ₹50 is permanently forfeited. Only raise objections on questions you are genuinely confident about and can support with authoritative sources such as standard textbooks or official reference material.
Q3
How are marks calculated from the RRB JE CBT-1 Answer Key?
+
Your raw score is calculated as: (Correct Answers × 1) − (Wrong Answers × 1/3). Unattempted questions carry no penalty. For example — 75 correct and 15 wrong gives 75 − (15 × 0.33) = 70 marks raw. However, your final score used for shortlisting will be the normalised score, not the raw score. Normalisation adjusts for difficulty differences across the three exam dates and multiple shifts, so candidates across all sessions are compared on a level playing field.
Q4
How many candidates are shortlisted from CBT-1 to CBT-2?
+
Shortlisting for CBT-2 is done at a 1:1 ratio — one candidate per vacancy per RRB, based on normalised CBT-1 scores. So if a particular RRB has 100 vacancies allocated, exactly the top 100 candidates from that pool advance to CBT-2. This is a tight filter — unlike many exams that shortlist 3x or 5x the vacancies, RRB JE moves forward only as many candidates as there are seats, making CBT-1 performance critically important.
Q5
Can I change my RRB or exam group preference after CBT-1?
+
No. Once the modification window (13–22 December 2025) closed, your choice of RRB was permanently locked and cannot be changed at any subsequent stage — not after CBT-1, not at CBT-2, and not at Document Verification. Your exam group preference is similarly fixed. Even if you qualify strongly, you will only be assessed against the RRB and exam group you originally opted for. Submitting multiple applications to different RRBs results in rejection of all applications and possible debarment.
Q6
Which official RRB websites can I use to access the answer key?
+
The answer key login portal is at rrb.digialm.com, accessible via any regional RRB's official website. Key RRB websites include: rrbchennai.gov.in, rrbmumbai.gov.in, rrbahmedabad.gov.in, rrbranchi.gov.in, rrbbhopal.gov.in, rrbbilaspur.gov.in, rrbguwahati.gov.in, rrbkolkata.gov.in, rrbpatna.gov.in, rrbsecunderabad.gov.in, rrbtrivandrum.gov.in, rrbsiliguri.gov.in, rrbajmer.gov.in, and rrbprayagraj.gov.in. Always access the portal through these official domains — beware of clones and lookalike sites that may steal your credentials.
Q7
When will the RRB JE CBT-1 Result 2026 be declared?
+
The RRB JE CBT-1 Result 2026 has not been announced yet. Results are typically published within 4–8 weeks after the objection review concludes and final answer keys are published. Since the objection window closes on 11 March 2026, the CBT-1 result is expected around April–May 2026 — though no official date has been confirmed. Monitor your registered RRB's official website and keep your registered email active for direct notifications from RRBs.
