The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has released Advertisement No. 524/RC/SSB/Combined Advt./CT to SI (Non-GD)/2025 (Notice No. 418/RC/SSB/OA/2023/Vol-II/1707 dated 21 March 2026) inviting online applications for 233 Group-C Head Constable posts across four trades — Steward (2), Communication (197), Electrician (29), and Veterinary (5). These are Non-Gazetted (Combatised) & Non-Ministerial posts under SSB, governed by SSB Act & Rules. Pay scale: Level-4, Rs 25,500–81,100 per month. Female: 800 metre race to be completed in 4 minutes
Note: Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET. However, they must appear in all other stages — PST, Written Exam, Skill Test (as applicable), Documentation & Medical Examination. PET is qualifying — no marks are awarded.

Part-II (100 Marks): Technical Subject (specific to the post applied for)
Minimum qualifying marks:
• General / EWS / OBC / Ex-SM: 50% (75 out of 150)
• SC / ST: 45% (67.5 out of 150)
Final merit list is based entirely on Written Exam marks. No interview. Tie-breaking: (a) Higher marks in Part-II (Technical Subject) → (b) Senior in age → (c) Alphabetical order of first names.
Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Conducted as per Revised Medical Guidelines dated 20.05.2015 issued by ADG Medical CAPF and amendments. Being declared FIT in DME gives NO legal claim or right to final appointment — appointment is strictly as per merit of written examination. Candidates declared unfit in DME may appeal through Review Medical Examination (RME) — RME decision is final.

Upload Photo and Signature (Part-II)
Upload a passport-size coloured photograph in JPG format — less than 12 KB and greater than 4 KB, resolution 100×120 pixels, white background with 75% face visible. Do NOT upload photo with beard if you will appear without beard. Upload signature in JPG format — less than 12 KB and greater than 4 KB, resolution 140×60 pixels, black or dark blue ink only. Applications with invalid/blurred/incorrect photos or signatures will be rejected summarily.
Pay Application Fee (Part-III)
Pay fee via Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card of any bank. UR/EWS/OBC: Rs 100 | SC/ST/Ex-SM/Female: Nil. Unreserved/OBC candidates can take print-out only after payment of applicable fee. Avoid multiple payments as fee is non-refundable. After successful payment, the system generates registration number — note it down or print the Acknowledgement. Keep registration number safe for all future references. 💙
Submit Application and Download Admit Card Later
After clicking the "Upload" button, the filled application form will be shown. It can be edited using "Edit Details" button till the closing/last date. After final submission, take a printout of the application form and keep it safe. Once submitted, no request for change in any particulars will be entertained. e-Admit Card will be available for download from the SSB Recruitment website 2–3 weeks before the examination. - Applications received through any mode except ONLINE shall not be accepted and will be rejected straightway.
- A candidate can apply for only ONE post from among the four posts advertised at Para-3.
- Change of category after registration is NOT permitted under any circumstances — candidature will be cancelled.
- Uploading fake photographs of any other person/celebrity or blank photos will lead to action under Cyber Crime IT Act 2000 and summary rejection.
- Candidates employed in Govt./Semi-Govt./PSUs should apply through proper channel. NOC from employer must be submitted at the time of documentation.
