Sub Inspector (Pioneer)
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University or Institute. Full-time regular degree only.
PST only — Height & chest measurement. No PET (running) required for Pioneer post.
Civil Engineering technical subject — 100 marks, as part of CBT Paper-II.
Level-6 · ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 per month + DA + HRA + RMA
Sub Inspector (Communication)
Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Computer Science Engineering or IT Engineering or B.Sc. (Science) with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from a recognised University / Institute.
Male: 1.6 km in 6 min 30 sec | Female: 800 m in 4 min. Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET.
Electronics/Communication/CS/IT technical subject — 100 marks in CBT Paper-II.
Level-6 · ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 per month + DA + HRA + RMA
Sub Inspector (Staff Nurse)
12th class pass (Science) from a recognised Board AND GNM Diploma: 3 years (passed before 2008 or after 2015–16) OR 3.5 years (passed between 2008 and 2015–16) AND registered with Central/State Nursing Council as General Nurse and Midwife.
PST only — Height & chest measurement. No PET running test for Staff Nurse post.
Nursing Science technical subject — 100 marks in CBT Paper-II.

Pay Scale & Allowances (7th CPC)
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates with more than one living spouse or who have remarried while the first spouse is alive are disqualified.
- Candidates convicted by a court of law, dismissed from Government service or involved in criminal cases are not eligible.
- Candidates providing false or incorrect information or suppressing facts in the application will be disqualified at any stage, even after appointment.
- Only one application per candidate is allowed. Multiple applications lead to rejection of all applications without fee refund.
Selection Process
Stage I — Physical Standard Test (PST)
Applicable to all three posts (Staff Nurse, Pioneer, Communication). Candidates must meet the minimum height and chest standards as per post and category. Candidates not meeting the prescribed minimums are eliminated at this stage. Biometric verification and digital photo/signature/thumb impression are captured at the reporting venue.
Stage II — Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — SI (Communication) Only
Only Sub Inspector (Communication) candidates must clear PET. Male: 1.6 km race in 6 minutes 30 seconds. Female: 800 metres race in 4 minutes. Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET. SI (Staff Nurse) and SI (Pioneer) candidates do NOT have PET. Candidates failing PET are eliminated.
Stage III — Written Examination (Computer Based Test / CBT)
Written Exam — 150 Marks · 3 Hours · Objective MCQ
Stage IV — Document Verification + Detailed Medical Examination (DME/RME)
Candidates shortlisted from written exam (up to 20 times vacancies category-wise) appear for document verification where all original certificates are verified. After DV, candidates meeting standards are called for Detailed Medical Examination (DME) conducted as per CAPF revised medical guidelines. Candidates declared unfit in DME can apply for Review Medical Examination (RME). Being declared “Fit” in DME does not confer any right to appointment — final appointment is strictly on written exam merit.

Register & Fill Personal Details
Register with a valid email ID and mobile number. Fill personal details: full name (as in Matriculation certificate), father’s/mother’s name, date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY as in Matriculation), gender, category, Aadhaar number (mandatory), religion, marital status, postal address, mobile number (mandatory) and email ID (mandatory). Declare any criminal cases if applicable.
Fill Educational & Professional Qualifications
Enter your engineering degree / GNM diploma details including institution, year of passing, percentage and registration number. For Staff Nurse: enter Nursing Council registration number and validity. For Pioneer/Communication: enter Civil/ECE/CS/IT engineering degree details.
Upload Photo & Signature
Upload passport-size colour photograph: JPG, 4–12 KB, 100×120 pixels, white background, 75% face visible, no hat/goggles. Upload signature in black/dark blue ink only: JPG, 4–12 KB, 140×60 pixels. Blurred or non-compliant photos/signatures cause rejection. If bearded, remain bearded throughout.
Pay Fee & Submit
Pay ₹200 online (SC/ST/ESM/Female — exempt). Note your registration number — also sent to registered email. Preview all details carefully before final submission. No changes allowed after submission. Download and save the acknowledgement. Check recruitment.ssb.gov.in regularly for PST/PET venue, admit card and exam updates.
