📌 How scores are calculated: Since CBE was held in multiple shifts, SSC uses Normalisation to ensure fairness. Raw scores are converted to normalised marks based on shift difficulty. The normalised score is used for merit and cut-off determination. NCC bonus marks (if applicable) are added separately and are NOT used to determine if a candidate meets the minimum qualifying marks threshold. Marks/Scorecard will be available via candidate login at ssc.gov.in after the final process.

Final Answer Key 2026 — What You Need to Know
🔑
What Is the Final Answer Key?
The Final Answer Key is the official, conclusive answer key released by SSC after considering all objections submitted against the Provisional Answer Key. The Provisional Answer Key was released on 26 September 2025; candidates raised objections (at ₹50 per objection) during the challenge window. After evaluating all valid objections, SSC released the Final Answer Key on 20 March 2026. The final key cannot be challenged — it is absolute and used to calculate the final marks for result declaration.
📄
What's Available to Download?
Candidates can download the following from the login portal: (1) Final Answer Key — the correct answers for all questions in your shift/set, (2) Response Sheet — your actual recorded responses in the CBE, (3) Marks/Scorecard — individual marks obtained after applying the final key to your responses. All three together help you verify your exact score and understand how the result was calculated. SSC will NOT provide these separately — download within the window.
Availability Window — Download Before 19 April 2026
The Final Answer Key + Response Sheet + Scorecard are available from 20 March 2026 and the last date to download is 19 April 2026. SSC will not entertain any request from candidates to provide the answer key or response sheet after this date. There is no fee to download the final answer key. Candidates must login using their Registration Number and Password created during the CBE registration process.
🔐
Login Credentials Required
To access the Final Answer Key, you need: (1) Registration Number — as used during Phase XIII application, (2) Password — set during online registration. If you have forgotten your password, use the "Forgot Password" option on the portal. The direct login portal is sscexams.cbexams.com. Do not share your login credentials with anyone — your response sheet and marks are personal and confidential. 💙

Negative Marking — 0.50 marks per wrong answer
For every incorrect answer, 0.50 marks (half mark) are deducted. There is no penalty for unanswered questions. The CBE is designed so that wild guessing is costly — attempt only questions you are confident about. With 100 questions at 2 marks each (200 total) and 0.50 negative marking, accuracy is the key to a high normalised score in Phase XIV onwards.
📊
Normalisation — Why Scores Are Adjusted
Since the CBE was conducted in multiple shifts across multiple days (24 July – 4 August + 29 August 2025), raw scores are normalised to account for variations in difficulty levels between shifts. SSC uses an established normalisation formula for this. Your normalised score (not raw score) is used for the merit list and cut-off. Normalised marks are displayed on your scorecard available via candidate login. This ensures complete fairness across all shifts and sets.
📌 Selection Process: CBE (Computer Based Exam) → Document Upload / Scrutiny → Skill Test / Typing Test (where prescribed — qualifying only) → Document Verification (DV) → Final Merit List → Appointment. There is no interview for any Selection Post in Phase XIII. The Skill Test / Data Entry / Computer Proficiency Test is qualifying in nature (unless specified otherwise in post details). Final selection is based entirely on CBE normalised marks.
08

What was the SSC Phase XIII CBE exam date and how many candidates appeared?
The SSC Phase XIII/2025 Computer Based Examination (CBE) was conducted from 24th July to 4th August 2025 in multiple shifts across examination centres all over India. Due to significant disruptions caused by technical glitches and operational delays on certain exam days, a Re-Exam was conducted on 29 August 2025 for approximately 59,500 affected candidates. In total, over 5.50 lakh candidates appeared for the CBE. The exam consisted of 100 MCQ questions for 200 marks (2 marks each) with 0.50 negative marking for wrong answers.
+
What is normalisation in SSC Phase XIII and how does it affect my score?
Since SSC Phase XIII CBE was conducted in multiple shifts on multiple days, different sets of questions were used for different shifts. To ensure fairness, SSC applies Normalisation — a mathematical process that adjusts raw scores based on the relative difficulty of each shift. If your shift was harder, your raw marks may be normalised upward; if easier, they may be adjusted downward. The normalised score is what appears on your scorecard and is used for merit and cut-off. NCC bonus marks are added after normalisation. Your normalised score is available on the scorecard downloadable via candidate login at ssc.gov.in. 💙
