UP Police SI Admit Card 2026
Advt No. PRPB-B (SI Cadre)-03/2025 | Written Exam 14–15 March 2026 | uppbpb.gov.in
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has released the Admit Card (Hall Ticket) for the UP Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Direct Recruitment Written Examination 2026 under Advertisement No. PRPB-B (Sub Inspector Cadre)-03/2025. Hall tickets are being released in two batches: the admit card for the 14 March 2026 exam was made available on 11 March 2026, and the one for the 15 March 2026 exam will be released on 12 March 2026 — each admit card is issued exactly 3 days before the corresponding exam date. The Exam City Intimation Slip, which reveals the assigned exam city and shift details, was released earlier on 06 March 2026. The written exam will be held across two days — 14 March 2026 (Saturday) and 15 March 2026 (Sunday) — in two shifts per day at designated centres across 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. This is one of India's largest state police recruitments: a total of 15,75,760 candidates (approximately 15.75 lakh) have successfully registered for 4,543 Sub-Inspector and equivalent vacancies — a competition ratio that underscores just how high the stakes are. Candidates must download their hall ticket from uppbpb.gov.in using their Registration Number and Date of Birth, print 2–3 clear copies on A4, and carry a valid original photo ID alongside. The written exam is a Computer Based Test (CBT) of 400 marks, 160 questions, 2 hours, with no negative marking.

Open uppbpb.gov.in — Official UPPRPB Website
Launch a browser (Google Chrome or Firefox recommended on desktop/laptop) and navigate to www.uppbpb.gov.in — the official website of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board. On the homepage, look in the Latest Notices / Notifications section or the dedicated Admit Card menu for the link labelled "Download Admit Card of Sub Inspector (SI), Platoon Commander and Female Sub Inspector (Women Battalion) Recruitment 2026". Given server congestion expected from 15.75 lakh simultaneous users, try early morning (before 8 AM) or late night (after 11 PM) for fastest access.
Click the Admit Card Download Link
Click the specific link for the UP Police SI 2026 Admit Card. You will be redirected to a Candidate Login portal — this is separate from your full OTR application dashboard. Some candidates may land directly on the admit card portal at a sub-URL. If the page loads slowly, wait and retry — do not click multiple times as it may create duplicate sessions.
Enter Registration Number, Date of Birth, and Captcha
On the login screen, enter your Registration Number (received at time of OTR/application — check your registered email or SMS confirmation) and your Date of Birth in the prescribed format (DD-MM-YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY as specified). Enter the on-screen Captcha code carefully — it is case-sensitive. Click the Login / Submit button. If you receive an "Invalid Login" error, recheck your Registration Number from your application acknowledgement. Do NOT lock your account by attempting too many failed logins in quick succession.
Verify All Details on the Admit Card
After successful login, your hall ticket will display on screen. Carefully check all printed information: Name, Father's Name, Roll Number, Registration Number, Photograph, Signature, Post Applied For, Exam Date & Shift, Gate Reporting Time and Gate Closing Time, Exam Centre Name, Full Address, and any special instructions. The admit card will also show your assigned district/city confirming the information from the City Intimation Slip. If any detail is incorrect (especially photograph, date, or centre), contact UPPRPB helpline immediately — do NOT attempt the exam with incorrect details.
Download as PDF and Print 2–3 Copies on A4
Click Download / Print to save the admit card as a PDF. Print at least 2–3 clear, unblurred copies on white A4 paper. Use standard (not economy) print quality — the barcode, photograph, and text must all be clearly legible. Do NOT fold the printout across the barcode strip. One copy will be collected and retained by the invigilator at the exam hall. Keep the remaining copies safely throughout the entire recruitment process — you will need the admit card again at the DV, PST, and PET stages.
A total of 4,543 Sub-Inspector and equivalent posts are being filled across four distinct service categories within the UP Police force. Each post carries different physical requirements and posting responsibilities.

- Missing either the printed admit card OR a valid original ID — you will be denied entry. Both are mandatory, no exceptions under any circumstances
- Arriving after the Gate Closing Time on your hall ticket — the gate closes 15–20 minutes before exam start time. Even 1 minute late = no entry, no rescheduling, no refund
- DOB mismatch — if your Aadhaar or photo ID shows a different Date of Birth from your admit card, you will face identity verification problems at the entry gate. Resolve this before exam day by contacting UPPRPB
- Showing a digital ID on your phone — DigiLocker IDs and screenshots/photos of IDs are not accepted. Only original physical documents are valid
- Blurred photograph on admit card — if your admit card photograph is not recognisably you (low print quality or incorrect upload during application), contact UPPRPB before the exam date
- Keep the admit card after the exam — it will be required again at the Document Verification, PST, and PET stages
| Section | Questions | Marks | Key Topics & Frequently Tested Areas |
|---|---|---|---|
| General Hindi (सामान्य हिंदी) | 40 | 100 | Hindi grammar (Sandhi, Samas, Karak, Kaal), Vocabulary (Paryayvachi, Vilom, Anekarthi), Muhavare & Lokoktiyan, Sentence correction, Reading comprehension, Ras-Chhand-Alankar basics |
| Basic Law / Constitution / General Knowledge | 40 | 100 | Indian Penal Code (IPC) — Sec. 302, 307, 376, 420, 34, 120B; CrPC — arrest, bail, FIR procedures; Indian Evidence Act; Motor Vehicles Act; UP Police Act 2007; Indian Constitution — Fundamental Rights (Art. 12–35), DPSP, Preamble; Current Affairs (last 6 months); UP GK; Science in daily life; History, Geography, Polity |
| Numerical & Mental Ability | 40 | 100 | Number System, HCF & LCM, Simplification & Approximation, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Work, Speed–Distance–Time, Mensuration (2D & 3D), Data Interpretation (tables, bar graphs, pie charts), Average, Ratio & Proportion |
| Mental Aptitude / Intelligence / Reasoning | 40 | 100 | Analogies, Series Completion (number & alphabet), Coding–Decoding, Blood Relations, Directions & Distances, Sitting Arrangements, Venn Diagrams, Syllogisms, Mirror & Water Images, Odd One Out, Classification, Statement–Conclusion, Statement–Assumption |
| TOTAL | 160 | 400 | Online CBT | 120 minutes | No negative marking | Bilingual (Hindi & English) |
- No negative marking = attempt all 160 questions without exception. Every blank is a missed 2.5 marks. Even a best guess has a 25% chance of yielding 2.5 marks.
- General Hindi (100 marks) is the highest return section for UP-domicile candidates — grammar rules are finite and predictable. Focus these final days on Sandhi, Samas, Muhavare, Vilom, and Ras. A candidate scoring 85+ here has a significant edge.
- Basic Law (100 marks) — memorise key IPC sections: 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 376 (rape), 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 120B (criminal conspiracy). UP Police Act 2007 and Article 22 (arrest rights) frequently appear.
- Reasoning (100 marks) — the most time-efficient section. Series completion, coding-decoding, and blood relations are the fastest to solve and appear every year. Master these first.
- Maths (100 marks) — focus on Percentage, Time & Work, and Speed-Distance-Time. These three topics cover approximately 40–50% of the numerical section.
- With 15.75 lakh candidates competing, even a 5-mark difference separates thousands of ranks. Use these final days wisely — solve 3–4 previous year papers under timed conditions.
| Stage | Nature | Key Details |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1: Written Exam (CBT) | Merit-Based | 14–15 March 2026 | 160 MCQ | 400 marks | 120 min | No negative marking | Online | Final merit determined solely by this score |
| Stage 2: Document Verification (DV) | Qualifying | Original certificates verified — graduation marksheet, caste/EWS certificate, domicile, age proof, character certificate. No marks added. |
| Stage 2 (parallel): Physical Standard Test (PST) | Qualifying | Height, chest (male), and weight (female) checked. Disqualification if not meeting minimum standards. No marks added. |
| Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) | Qualifying | Running test — Male: 4.8 km in 28 minutes | Female: 2.4 km in 16 minutes. Only PST-qualified candidates appear. No marks added. |
| Stage 4: Medical Examination | Qualifying | Vision (6/6 or 6/9, no colour blindness), ECG, blood/urine tests, flat feet, knock knees, chest X-ray, drug screening, hearing, dental health |
| Stage 4 (parallel): Character Verification | Qualifying | Police background check — criminal antecedents, character reference, any pending cases. Adverse report = disqualification. |
| Final Merit List | Written Exam Score Only | Appointment based exclusively on CBT marks, subject to clearing all qualifying stages (DV, PST, PET, Medical, Character) |
📏 Physical Standard Test (PST) — Height, Chest & Weight Requirements
| Candidate Group | Minimum Height | Chest — Unexpanded / Expanded (Male only) | Minimum Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Male — General, OBC, SC | 168 cm | 79 cm / 84 cm (5 cm expansion mandatory) | Proportionate to height (min. ~50 kg) |
| Male — SC (some sources show category-specific) | 168 cm | 77 cm / 82 cm (5 cm expansion mandatory) | Proportionate to height |
| Male — ST | 160 cm | 77 cm / 82 cm (5 cm expansion mandatory) | Proportionate to height |
| Female — General, OBC, SC | 152 cm | Not applicable for females | Minimum 40 kg |
| Female — ST | 147 cm | Not applicable for females | Minimum 40 kg |
🏃 Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — Running Standards
| Gender | Distance | Time Limit | Nature |
|---|---|---|---|
| Male Candidates | 4.8 km | 28 minutes | Qualifying only — must complete full distance within time. DNF = disqualification. |
| Female Candidates | 2.4 km | 16 minutes | Qualifying only — must complete full distance within time. DNF = disqualification. |
- The PET comes after the written exam result — but physical fitness takes weeks to months to build, not days. Start running training immediately, even while preparing for the written exam.
- For male candidates: Run 4.8 km daily, progressively building pace to complete it in under 25 minutes to have a safety margin on test day.
- For female candidates: Run 2.4 km daily, targeting 14 minutes — give yourself a 2-minute buffer to account for stress and track conditions on test day.
- Practice running on outdoor tracks, not treadmills — the PET is conducted on an open ground and conditions differ significantly from gym running.

Admit Card for 14 March 2026 exam → Released 11 March 2026
Admit Card for 15 March 2026 exam → Released 12 March 2026
The Exam City Intimation Slip (which reveals your assigned exam city and shift) was released earlier on 06 March 2026. Both are available at uppbpb.gov.in — log in with your Registration Number and Date of Birth. Candidates must download and print their admit card before arriving at the exam centre. Entry without a printed admit card is strictly not permitted.
The exam is divided into 4 equal sections of 40 questions × 100 marks each:
1. General Hindi — 40 Qs / 100 marks (grammar, vocabulary, comprehension)
2. Basic Law / Constitution / General Knowledge — 40 Qs / 100 marks (IPC, CrPC, Constitution, UP GK, current affairs)
3. Numerical & Mental Ability — 40 Qs / 100 marks (arithmetic, data interpretation)
4. Mental Aptitude / Intelligence / Reasoning — 40 Qs / 100 marks (logical reasoning, analogies, coding)
The exam is conducted online (CBT) in bilingual format (Hindi and English). With no negative marking, you should attempt every single question — there is no downside to guessing.
This makes it one of the most competitive state police SI recruitments in India — the theoretical competition ratio is approximately 347 candidates per vacancy across all 4,543 posts. In practice, cut-off scores will be very high, and even a 1–2 mark difference at the cut-off boundary can result in thousands of rank changes.
Given this volume, the uppbpb.gov.in server will face extreme load during admit card download. Candidates should download their hall ticket as early as possible after release — ideally within the first few hours of the admit card going live.
Stage 1 — Written Exam (CBT): 14–15 March 2026. Online MCQ, 400 marks, 120 min, no negative marking. This is the only merit-determining stage — the final selection order is based solely on written exam scores.
Stage 2 — Document Verification (DV) + Physical Standard Test (PST): Original certificates checked. Height, chest (male), and weight (female) measured against category-specific norms. Both are qualifying — no marks added.
Stage 3 — Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Running test — Male 4.8 km in 28 minutes, Female 2.4 km in 16 minutes. Qualifying only.
Stage 4 — Medical Examination + Character Verification: Comprehensive medical (vision, ECG, blood tests, flat feet, drug screening) and police background verification. Both are qualifying.
Final appointment is made in written exam merit order, subject to passing all qualifying stages without exception.
• Male (General/OBC/SC): Minimum 168 cm
• Male (ST): Minimum 160 cm
• Female (General/OBC/SC): Minimum 152 cm
• Female (ST): Minimum 147 cm
Chest Measurement (Male candidates only — female candidates are not measured for chest):
• General/OBC Male: 79 cm unexpanded / 84 cm expanded (minimum 5 cm expansion mandatory)
• SC Male: 77 cm unexpanded / 82 cm expanded (5 cm expansion mandatory)
• ST Male: 77 cm unexpanded / 82 cm expanded (5 cm expansion mandatory)
Weight: Male candidates must have weight proportionate to height. Female candidates must weigh a minimum of 40 kg. The PST is a qualifying stage — failure means elimination regardless of written exam score.
Pay Band: ₹9,300–₹34,800 + Grade Pay ₹4,200 (Pay Level 6)
Starting Basic Pay: ₹35,400/month
Gross In-Hand Salary: Approximately ₹55,000–₹65,000 per month, which includes:

— House Rent Allowance (HRA) — varies by posting city (X/Y/Z classification)
— Travel Allowance for official duties
— Uniform Allowance and Phone Allowance
— Medical benefits through government hospitals
Career advancement to Inspector, Deputy SP (DSP), and further IPS ranks is possible through departmental promotion exams and seniority. Government accommodation (police quarters) is also available subject to availability at posting locations.
Mandatory (without both, entry is denied):
1. Printed Admit Card — 2–3 A4 copies; barcode not folded; same photograph as uploaded
2. Original valid photo ID — Aadhaar Card (with full DOB visible), Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport, or Driving Licence. DigiLocker digital IDs and phone screenshots are NOT accepted
Strongly Recommended:
— 2–3 recent passport-size photographs (same as application)
— City Intimation Slip printout (backup for centre address/shift)
— Black/blue ballpoint pen
Strictly Prohibited: Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, earphones, calculators, books/notes, digital watches. Do not bring any electronic device — there is no storage facility at most venues.
Arrive at least 60 minutes before your gate closing time. Gate closes 15–20 min before exam start time — latecomers are not admitted.
Payment was accepted only through online modes: Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, and UPI. No offline challan mode was available. The application window was open from 12 August to 11 September 2025. The fee is non-refundable under all circumstances — including cancellation of recruitment, absence from the exam, or disqualification at any stage.
