Selection Process

📝 No Interview for Group C posts. Selection is a two-stage merit-based process: PET 2025 shortlisting → Main Written Examination. Final merit is determined entirely by Main Exam performance.
1

Stage 1 — PET 2025 Score-Based Shortlisting

Candidates are shortlisted for the Main Examination based on their normalized scores in UPSSSC PET 2025. Shortlisting is done category-wise for approximately 15 times the number of vacancies in each reservation category. Candidates who received zero or negative normalized PET scores are not considered for shortlisting under any circumstances.

2

Stage 2 — Main Written Examination (State Level)

Shortlisted candidates sit for a single state-level main written examination. The exam tests General Knowledge, Reasoning, Hindi Language, Elementary Mathematics and subject-specific knowledge relevant to the applied post. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer. The final selection and merit list is based solely on marks scored in this examination.

3

Stage 3 — Document Verification (DV)

Candidates who rank within the merit cutoff are called for document verification at UPSSSC offices. Candidates must carry all original certificates and two sets of self-attested photocopies. Any mismatch between declared information and original documents — or any forgery — results in immediate disqualification and legal action.

4

Stage 4 — Appointment to UPPCB

Candidates who clear all stages are formally recommended for appointment to the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board. They are posted at UPPCB regional offices, laboratories, or headquarters across Uttar Pradesh, contributing directly to the state's environmental monitoring and pollution control mission.
