The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has officially released the Admit Card for the West Bengal Judicial Service Final Written Examination 2026 on 16 March 2026 at psc.wb.gov.in. Candidates who qualified in the Preliminary Examination under Advertisement No. 19/2023 can now download their hall ticket. The Final Written Exam is scheduled from 23–30 March 2026 and 1–2 April 2026 at the WBPSC examination hall in Kolkata. A total of 54 Civil Judge (Junior Division) posts are at stake — one of the most prestigious judicial service positions in West Bengal. Every preparation hour you put in now counts more than ever. All exam sessions are held at the Examination Hall, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, Kolkata. Each paper is 3 hours duration. Refer to your admit card for session timings and specific paper details.

Avoid third-party websites, Telegram channels, or WhatsApp forwards claiming to share the hall ticket — always use the official source only. For best results, use a desktop or laptop browser. Navigate to Admit Card Section or Use Direct Link
On the WBPSC homepage, look for the "Admit Card" section in the top navigation or the "Candidate's Corner" on the right side. Click on "Download Admit Card for Written / Screening Test". Alternatively, use the direct link provided below — it takes you straight to the WB Judicial Service Final Written Exam admit card login page for Advt. No. 19/2023.
Enter Your Registration Number & Date of Birth
On the admit card login page, enter your Registration Number (received at the time of online application) and Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY format as filled in your application form). Click Submit / Search. If you forget your Registration Number, use the "Forgot Password" or helpdesk option on the portal. Keep your application acknowledgement number ready before logging in. 💙
Download and Print the Admit Card
Once your admit card loads, carefully verify all details — Name, Roll Number, Exam Dates, Exam Centre, Photo, and Signature. Click the Download / Print button. Save the PDF on your device and take at least 2–3 colour printouts on A4 paper. A clear, readable printout is mandatory. Blurry or low-quality printouts may not be accepted at the exam hall. 💙
Carry Admit Card + Valid Photo ID to Every Session
You must carry a printed admit card + one original valid Photo ID to every session of the Final Written Exam (23 March to 2 April 2026). Accepted IDs: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving Licence. Without both documents, entry to the examination hall will not be permitted under any circumstances. Keep your documents safe throughout the exam window. 💙

⚠️ Persons suffering from Autism, Intellectual Disability and Mental Illness are NOT eligible for the post of Civil Judge (Junior Division) as per Judicial Department Notification No. 1324-J dated 18 April 2024, Govt. of West Bengal.
- SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/EWS reservation benefits are available only for candidates domiciled in West Bengal. Candidates from other states must apply under UR/General category.
- OBC-A and OBC-B reservation percentages are subject to the outcome of pending litigation before the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India and the Hon'ble High Court of Calcutta. Provisional allocation only.
- EWS candidates must submit a renewed/revalidated EWS Income & Asset Certificate at the time of Personality Test and at appointment.
- All 54 appointments are initially on a temporary basis. Regularisation will be as per Government of West Bengal rules.
- The post of Civil Judge (Junior Division) also functions as Judicial Magistrate — both civil and criminal jurisdiction.
SC / ST (West Bengal) & PwBD (40%+): No application fee — fully exempted.

Preliminary Examination ✅ Completed (7 December 2025)
The Preliminary Examination was held on 7 December 2025. It consisted of 200 objective-type MCQ questions for 200 marks to be completed in 180 minutes (3 hours). This was a qualifying / screening exam — its marks are NOT counted in the final merit list. The Final Answer Key was released on 8 January 2026. Candidates who cleared the cutoff were shortlisted for the Final Written Examination.
Final Written Examination — 23 March to 2 April 2026 ← Current Stage
The Final Written Examination (Mains) consists of 8 compulsory papers + 3 optional papers (11 papers total), each carrying 100 marks and conducted over 3 hours. Total marks: 1100. This is a descriptive (subjective) examination covering legal subjects including CPC, IPC, CrPC, Evidence Act, Constitutional Law, Transfer of Property, Contracts, Torts, and more. The exam is spread over 8 days from 23 March to 2 April 2026 at WBPSC's examination hall in Kolkata. This is where your preparation defines your future! 💙
Personality Test / Viva-Voce — After Final Written Result
Candidates shortlisted after the Final Written Exam will be called for a Personality Test (Viva-Voce) conducted at the office of the Public Service Commission, West Bengal, Kolkata. The Personality Test carries 100 marks and assesses judicial temperament, legal reasoning, communication skills, and overall suitability for the role of Civil Judge. The final merit is based on Written (1100) + Personality Test (100) = 1200 marks.
Final Merit List & Appointment as Civil Judge (Junior Division) ⚖️
The final merit list is published at psc.wb.gov.in. Selected candidates are appointed as Civil Judge (Junior Division) in the West Bengal Judicial Service under the Judicial Department, Government of West Bengal. Appointments are initially made on a temporary basis. Selected candidates will be posted to various courts across West Bengal as per the state judiciary's requirements. - Carrying a mobile phone into the exam hall — even in switched-off condition — may lead to immediate disqualification.
- Candidates impersonating another candidate or engaging in unfair means will be permanently debarred from all future WBPSC examinations.
- Any candidate who has exhausted their attempt limit (3 for General, 5 for SC/ST/OBC WB) is ineligible to appear — appearing anyway constitutes fraud.
- Report any discrepancy in the admit card (name, photo, DOB, roll number) to WBPSC helpdesk immediately — do not wait until exam day.
