WBCS Group D Final Result 2026 Out!
WBPSC Recommendation for Appointment in Group D Services — Download Merit List PDF
The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has officially declared the WBCS Group D Final Result 2026 on 6 April 2026 at the official portal psc.wb.gov.in. This is the final Recommendation for Appointment in Group D Services based on the results of the West Bengal Civil Service (Executive) etc. Examination 2022 — the culmination of a multi-year recruitment journey spanning Preliminary Examination, Main Written Examination, and the Personality Test (Interview). The final result PDF, identified as BCS_D_22, was published at approximately 3:08 PM on 6 April 2026 and lists the roll numbers and names of candidates recommended for appointment to various Group D services and posts of the Government of West Bengal. Candidates who appeared in the WBCS 2022 Personality Test for Group D — which was notified in October 2025 — can now verify their selection status by downloading the merit list PDF from psc.wb.gov.in and searching for their roll number. This is a final recommendation, meaning selected candidates will be proceeding to appointment formalities, document verification, and joining. Congratulations to all selected candidates! 🏛️
Visit the Official WBPSC Website — psc.wb.gov.in
Open your browser and go to psc.wb.gov.in — the official portal of the West Bengal Public Service Commission. Ensure you are on the correct official domain. Do not use any unofficial third-party sites for downloading the result — always access directly from psc.wb.gov.in for the authentic and latest PDF. The result was published on 6 April 2026. 🏛️
Navigate to 'What's New' or 'Recommendations' Section
On the WBPSC homepage, locate the "What's New" section (usually a scrolling ticker or announcement panel). Alternatively, navigate to the Recommendations or Results section from the main menu. Look for the announcement titled something like "Recommendation for Appointment in Group D Services based on the results of WBCS (Executive) etc. Examination, 2022". This will be the most recent Group D recommendation. 🏛️

Also search using your name if roll number doesn't show. 🏛️
Download, Print, and Keep Safe — Then Await Department Communication

Preliminary Examination (Screening Only — Not in Merit)
The WBCS Preliminary Exam is a qualifying/screening stage only — its marks are not counted in the final merit list. It comprises a single General Studies paper with 200 objective-type MCQs carrying 1 mark each, with a negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer. Duration: 2.5 hours. Candidates scoring above the Prelims cut-off are shortlisted for the Main Examination. For WBCS 2022, the Preliminary Exam was conducted in September 2024.
✅ Completed — Not in Final MeritMain Written Examination (Mains) — Counts for Merit
The WBCS Main Examination is the most substantial stage. It consists of 8 papers of 200 marks each: Paper I — English Essay and Composition (200 marks); Paper II — Language (Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali, candidate's choice, 200 marks); Papers III–VIII — six subject papers including General Studies compulsory papers plus one optional subject of two papers (200 marks each). Total Main Examination marks: 1600 marks. Duration: 3 hours per paper. The Main Exam is descriptive/essay-type. Mains marks form the primary basis of final merit.
✅ Completed — Counts for Final MeritPersonality Test / Interview (Group D: 100 Marks) — Final Stage
Candidates shortlisted after the Main Examination are called for the Personality Test at the WBPSC office. For Group D services, the Personality Test carries 100 marks. The interview panel assesses personality, general knowledge, awareness about West Bengal administration, communication ability, and overall suitability for the applied Group D services. The WBCS 2022 Group D Personality Test candidates were notified in October 2025. The Final Merit = Mains (1600) + Personality Test (100) = 1700 marks. Based on this combined merit, the WBCS Group D Final Result 2026 (BCS_D_22) was released on 6 April 2026.
