What the Final Merit List Contains
The Final Merit List is a trade-wise document prepared by WCR Bhopal Division for all 558 Act Apprentice posts. It is published on the NATS portal and lists every candidate who has been selected for engagement as an apprentice. The merit was drawn up by calculating the average percentage of marks secured in the Class 10 (or equivalent) board examination and the ITI examination. Here is what every entry in the list shows:

📌 How Merit Was Calculated
- Merit is based on the average of percentage marks secured in Class 10th / Matriculation (or equivalent) and in the ITI final examination.
- Both scores are given equal weightage — there is no written test or interview for this apprenticeship.
- The list is prepared trade-wise and category-wise, meaning candidates compete within their own trade and reservation category.
- e-KYC completion on the NATS portal is mandatory for all selected candidates before joining.

Log In with Your Registration Number & Password
On the NATS portal, click the candidate login option and enter the Registration Number and Password you created when you originally submitted your application for WCR Bhopal Act Apprentice 2025-26. If you have forgotten your password, use the portal's password reset option.

After logging in, navigate to the apprenticeship application section and filter by West Central Railway and Bhopal Division. Then select the specific trade you had applied for. The Final Merit List for that combination will be displayed.

Double-Check Your Search
Before concluding your name is absent, search again using your exact Registration Number — not just your name. Spelling variations in name entries can sometimes cause confusion. Also confirm you are looking at the correct trade and category combination.
Wait for a Possible Waitlist Round
If your name does not appear in the initial Final Merit List, do not close the chapter yet. If selected candidates drop out at Document Verification or Medical stage, WCR may call candidates from a waitlist or a second round. Keep monitoring the portal.

Is a selected candidate guaranteed a permanent railway job after the apprenticeship?

No. An Act Apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961 is a structured training programme — it is not employment. On successful completion of the 1-year training period, apprentices receive a Certificate of Proficiency. While this certificate is highly valued and makes candidates eligible for railway job notifications and other PSU openings, it does not guarantee a permanent position in Indian Railways. Apprentices must separately apply and compete in regular recruitment processes for permanent roles.
What if I am unable to attend Document Verification on the scheduled date?

Typically, WCR does not grant alternate DV dates to candidates who miss the scheduled slot without prior intimation. If you cannot attend on the announced date due to a genuine emergency, contact the DRM Office, Habibganj, Bhopal in writing as early as possible — before the DV date — and explain the situation with supporting proof. However, there is no guaranteed right to a rescheduled date. Absence without prior intimation generally results in forfeiture of the selected seat.
