🏭 UBI Products & Services Section — What to Study

This is a unique section specific to Union Bank of India. It covers features, benefits, and eligibility details of UBI's key products: Saving Account, Current Account, Salary Account, Term Deposits, and Union Ease. Candidates must visit the official Union Bank of India website (unionbankofindia.bank.in) to read about these products before the exam. This section carries 20 marks and is often the differentiator between selected and non-selected candidates since most candidates study all other sections equally.

📈 Quick Topic Guide — Other Sections
  • General/Financial Awareness: Banking current affairs, RBI policies, government schemes, financial literacy — focus on last 6 months of banking news
  • General English: Reading comprehension, fill-in-the-blanks, error spotting, sentence rearrangement, cloze test
  • Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude: Number series, simplification, data interpretation, puzzles, coding-decoding, seating arrangement, blood relations
  • Computer/Subject Knowledge: MS Office basics, internet, hardware/software fundamentals, networking basics, keyboard shortcuts
08
Selection Process — Step by Step
Online Test → Language Test → Document Verification → Medical Fitness → Training Contract
1

Stage 1 — Online Written Examination

All fee-paid eligible candidates will be called for an objective-type online test of 100 questions, 100 marks, in 60 minutes. The exam is conducted on the candidate's own camera-enabled device. There is no negative marking. The test covers General/Financial Awareness, English, Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude, Computer Knowledge, and Union Bank Products & Services. Shortlisting for the next stage is based on performance in this test.

2

Stage 2 — Local Language Proficiency Test

Candidates who cannot produce proof of having studied the local language of the applied state (via 10th/12th marksheet) must appear for a Local Language Proficiency Test. This test assesses basic reading, writing, and communication ability in the state's official language. Candidates with 10th/12th certificates showing the local language as a study subject are automatically exempted and directly move to document verification.

3

Stage 3 — Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates are called for thorough verification of all original documents — Date of Birth proof, Graduation Marksheet and Degree/Provisional Certificate (must show passing date between 01.04.2022 and 01.04.2026), Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD in GoI format), NAPS registration proof, NATS enrolment proof, Aadhaar, PAN, APAAR ID, and passport-size photographs. Any discrepancy leads to disqualification.

4

Stage 4 — Medical Fitness Certificate

Finally selected candidates must submit a Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a practising registered General Physician declaring them medically fit for the apprenticeship. This is self-arranged by the candidate — not a bank-organised medical check. After submitting this certificate and completing all formalities, the apprenticeship contract is signed and training commences.

5

Stage 5 — Training Contract & Joining

Selected candidates sign a formal apprenticeship contract with Union Bank of India for a 1-year (12-month) On-Job Training period at an assigned branch. Working hours mirror those of clerical staff. After completing 12 months, candidates appear for an assessment test to receive their official apprenticeship completion certificate. Posting location (state, district) is as per the candidate's preference and Bank's availability — home district preference is given.

How to Apply Online — 3-Portal Process
NAPS → NATS → BFSI SSC — all 3 registrations required — closes 19 May 2026
📌 Important — Complete This 3-Step Pre-Registration Before Opening BFSI SSC Form

Unlike other bank recruitments, Union Bank Apprentice 2026 requires candidates to complete registrations on TWO government apprenticeship portals before applying on the BFSI SSC portal. Keep your NAPS Apprentice Code and NATS Enrolment Number ready — these are mandatory fields in the BFSI SSC application form. Without them, the application cannot be completed.

1

Register on NAPS Portal — Get Your Apprentice Code

Visit www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and complete your registration as an apprentice candidate. Fill in all personal and educational details accurately. After successful registration, you receive your NAPS Apprentice Registration Code Number. Note this down — it is a mandatory field in the BFSI SSC application form for Union Bank Apprentice 2026.

2

Register on NATS Portal — Get Your Enrolment Number

Visit nats.education.gov.in and register to get your NATS Enrolment Number. Complete your student profile on the portal. This too is a compulsory field in the BFSI SSC form. Both NAPS and NATS registrations are required — neither can substitute the other.

3

Get Your APAAR ID from DigiLocker

Visit www.digilocker.gov.in to generate your APAAR ID (Academic Bank of Credits). This is a unique academic identifier linked to your educational records. It is required as a document upload during the BFSI SSC application. If you do not have one, create it on DigiLocker using your Aadhaar and academic details before starting the BFSI SSC application.

4

Apply on BFSI SSC Portal — Fill Application Form

Visit beep.bfsissc.com/candidate_register/mkt. Register with your name, date of birth, email ID, and mobile number. Log in and fill the complete application form — personal details, educational qualifications, NAPS code, NATS number, preferred state, and up to 5 preferred districts (home district as first preference). Select your local language for the applied state. Use Save & Next between sections.

5

Upload All Required Documents

Upload in JPEG/PDF format (each under 1 MB): Aadhaar Card (Front & Back), Passport-size Photograph, Graduation Marksheet/Degree/Provisional Certificate, Caste Certificate (if applicable), PwBD Certificate (if applicable), PAN Card, and APAAR ID Card. Keep file sizes within the specified limits — oversized files will be rejected by the portal.

6

Pay Application Fee & Submit

Pay the applicable fee online via Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI. General Male: ₹944/- | General Female: ₹708/- | SC/ST/PwBD/Transgender: ₹236/-. After payment, an e-receipt will be sent to your registered email. Take a printout of the complete application form and e-receipt and save for future reference. Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know — Union Bank of India Apprentice Recruitment 2026
What is the last date to apply for Union Bank Apprentice 2026?+
The last date to submit the online application and pay the examination fee is 19 May 2026. The application window opened on 29 April 2026. Apply through the BFSI SSC portal at beep.bfsissc.com/candidate_register/mkt. It is strongly recommended to apply at least 5–7 days before the closing date — heavy server traffic on the last day often causes technical failures, and no extensions will be granted under any circumstances.
Can freshers apply for Union Bank of India Apprentice 2026?+
Yes — this is primarily a freshers' program. No prior work experience is required for the Union Bank Apprentice 2026. In fact, candidates who have 1 year or more of post-qualification job experience after completing their graduation are NOT eligible. The program is designed for recent graduates who want to gain practical banking exposure through a structured 1-year On-Job Training program at Union Bank branches.
What is the monthly stipend for Union Bank Apprentice 2026?+
The monthly stipend depends entirely on where you are posted: Rural/Semi-Urban branches: ₹15,000/month | Urban branches: ₹18,000/month | Metro branches: ₹20,000/month. This stipend is the only financial benefit — there is no PF, ESI, Bonus, Transport Allowance, or Hostel Facility. The stipend is paid at the end of each month, with deductions for any unauthorised absences. Branch categorisation (Rural/Urban/Metro) is as per Union Bank's predefined internal criteria.
Is there negative marking in the Union Bank Apprentice 2026 online exam?+
No — there is no negative marking in the Union Bank Apprentice 2026 online test. The exam consists of 100 objective-type questions carrying 100 marks in 60 minutes. Since there is no penalty for wrong answers, candidates should attempt all questions. The 5 sections are: General/Financial Awareness (20), General English (20), Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude (20), Computer/Subject Knowledge (20), and UBI Products & Services (20).
Why do I need to register on NAPS and NATS portals separately?+
The Apprentices Act, 1961 requires all apprenticeship engagements to be formally registered on the Government of India's apprenticeship portals. NAPS (National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme) at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and NATS (National Apprenticeship Training Scheme) at nats.education.gov.in are mandatory pre-registration portals. Your NAPS Apprentice Code and NATS Enrolment Number are required fields in the BFSI SSC application form — without completing both, you cannot submit the Union Bank Apprentice application.
What is the APAAR ID and how do I get it?+
APAAR stands for Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID — a unique 12-digit academic identifier issued to students and graduates in India. It is required as an uploaded document in the Union Bank Apprentice 2026 application on the BFSI SSC portal. You can generate your APAAR ID by visiting www.digilocker.gov.in, logging in with your Aadhaar, and finding the APAAR/ABC ID under the Academic Bank section. The process is free and instant.
Will the apprenticeship lead to a permanent job in Union Bank?+
No. The Union Bank of India Apprentice 2026 is a fixed-term 1-year training contract under the Apprentices Act, 1961. It does not guarantee or create any right to regular or permanent employment in Union Bank of India after the training period ends. The bank has no obligation to absorb apprentices. Additionally, apprentices are prohibited from joining or forming any Union Body during the training period. After training, candidates receive a completion certificate which adds value to their resume for future banking jobs.
Can candidates from any state apply for any state in Union Bank Apprentice 2026?+
Yes — candidates can apply for any state, but they must be proficient in the local language of the state they are applying for (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding). If they cannot produce a 10th/12th certificate showing study of the local language, they must appear for and clear a Local Language Proficiency Test. Choosing a state whose language you do not know will result in failing this test and losing the opportunity. Choose your preferred state wisely based on your language proficiency.
What is the qualification age limit — my graduation is from 2021. Am I eligible?+
No — unfortunately you are not eligible. Union Bank of India has specified that the graduation passing date must be on or after 01.04.2022 — meaning the graduation result must have been declared within the last 4 years as on the cut-off date of 01.04.2026. A graduation completed in 2021 predates 01.04.2022 and therefore does not meet this criterion. This rule ensures that only recently qualified graduates participate in the apprenticeship program.
How many district preferences can I fill in the Union Bank Apprentice 2026 application?+
Candidates can select up to 5 preferred districts within the state they are applying for. The home district should be entered as the first preference. Actual posting depends on the Bank's requirement and availability of vacancies in the applied state/districts. The Bank reserves the right to post selected candidates in any branch within the state, not necessarily in the preferred districts. Candidates must be willing to serve wherever the Bank assigns them.
