ℹ️ Note on Normalisation: Since the exam was held across multiple sessions from 07–12 January 2026, SSC has applied its standard normalisation formula to ensure fair comparison of marks across shifts. Cut-off scores are therefore normalised figures — not raw marks scored by candidates. Individual scorecards with raw as well as normalised marks will be made available on ssc.gov.in via login.

Complete Selection Process — All Stages

The recruitment for Head Constable (Ministerial) in Delhi Police follows a four-stage selection process. The CBT result has been declared. Shortlisted candidates now proceed to Stages 2, 3, and 4. There is no interview in this recruitment.

Stage 1 — Computer Based Examination (CBE) ✅ Result Declared

Objective CBT of 100 questions / 100 marks / 90 minutes. Five sections: General Awareness (20), Quantitative Aptitude (20), General Intelligence/Reasoning (20), English Language (20), and Computer Fundamentals (20). Negative marking: 0.50 marks per wrong answer. Exam held 07–12 January 2026. Result declared 05 June 2026.

2

Stage 2 — Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT) ⏳ Schedule Awaited

Qualifying in nature — marks NOT added to final merit. Assesses physical fitness and body measurements. Schedule will be issued by Delhi Police at delhipolice.gov.in. PwBD (OH category) candidates are exempted from PET. Physical tasks include race, long jump, and high jump. Minimum height and chest (male) standards also checked.

3

Stage 3 — Trade Test (Skill Test) — Typing + Computer Formatting Test

Two components: (a) Typing Test — candidates must demonstrate the prescribed typing speed in English (35 wpm) or Hindi (30 wpm) on a computer; qualifying in nature, 25 marks. Non-appearance or failure in the Trade Test leads to disqualification from the process.

Following successful DV, candidates undergo a Medical Examination to confirm they meet the prescribed health standards for Delhi Police service. Frequently Asked Questions — Delhi Police HC Result 2026
Q1
When was the Delhi Police Head Constable (Ministerial) CBT Result 2026 declared?
+
The CBT result was officially declared by SSC on 05 June 2026. The result is available in PDF format on ssc.gov.in under the Results / Candidate Result section. Three separate PDFs have been released — List-I for Male (Open), List-II for Male (ESM), and List-III for Female (Open). A total of 7,217 candidates have been shortlisted for the next round.
Q2
Why are the cut-off marks in decimals — are these raw marks or normalised scores?
+
The cut-off marks are in decimals because they are normalised scores, not raw marks. Since the Delhi Police HC (Ministerial) CBT was held across multiple shifts from 07–12 January 2026, different candidates faced different sets of questions (of varying difficulty levels across shifts). SSC applies a standard normalisation formula to ensure fair comparison across shifts. This process converts raw marks into normalised scores, which may be fractional. The official cut-off, for example, of 82.68883 for UR (Male Open) is the normalised score at which the last candidate was shortlisted in that category.
Q3
My roll number is not in the PDF. Am I disqualified? What can I do?
+
If your roll number does not appear in any of the three official PDFs (List-I, II, or III), it means your normalised CBT score was below the category-wise cut-off for your list, and you have not been shortlisted for PE&MT at this stage.

Before accepting this, make sure you searched the correct PDF for your gender and ESM status, and searched your complete Roll Number exactly as on your admit card. If you believe there is a discrepancy, you may represent to SSC via the official correspondence channel. Individual scorecards (to be uploaded later on ssc.gov.in) will confirm your actual marks and qualifying status. There is no re-evaluation of CBT answers, but answer key challenges (if within the allowed window) were accepted and final answer keys were used for result processing.
Q4
How many candidates were shortlisted versus total vacancies — what are my chances?
+
Total vacancies are 509 and the number shortlisted for PE&MT is 7,217 — a ratio of approximately 14:1. This means roughly 1 in 14 shortlisted candidates will ultimately be selected after clearing all qualifying stages (PE&MT, Typing Test, Computer Test, DV, Medical). The large shortlisting ratio accounts for candidates likely to drop out at each subsequent stage due to failure in physical tests, typing tests, or document issues. Final selection depends on your CBT merit rank within your category, after all qualifying stages are cleared.
Q5
When will the PE&MT call letters and schedule be released?
+
The schedule, admission certificates (call letters), and venue details for the Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT) will be released by Delhi Police on their official website delhipolice.gov.in — not by SSC. SSC's role ends after CBT result declaration. Shortlisted candidates should monitor delhipolice.gov.in regularly. Notifications will also be sent to registered email and mobile numbers. No separate intimation is sent by post.
Q6
What is the salary and job profile of a Delhi Police Head Constable (Ministerial)?
+
The post of Head Constable (Ministerial) in Delhi Police is a Group C Central Government post under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Key details:

Pay Scale: Pay Level 4 — Basic ₹25,500–₹81,100 (7th CPC Pay Matrix)
Gross Salary: Approximately ₹40,000–₹50,000/month in Delhi (including DA, HRA for Delhi, and allowances)
Job Profile: Ministerial/clerical work within Delhi Police — handling files, documentation, data entry, computer operations, assisting in administrative functions of police units. Not a frontline policing role.
Benefits: CGHS medical coverage, LTC, NPS pension, uniform allowance, Delhi city allowance, government quarters (if available)
Career Growth: Promotions to Sub-Inspector (Ministerial), Inspector (Ministerial) through departmental examinations based on seniority and performance
Q7
Does a candidate in List-I (Male Open) also appear in List-II (Male ESM)?
+
No. The three result lists are mutually exclusive. Ex-Servicemen (ESM) candidates who applied under the ESM quota appear only in List-II (Male ESM). Open/General male candidates appear in List-I (Male Open). Female candidates appear in List-III (Female Open). Each list has its own category-wise cut-off calculated separately based on the respective pool of candidates. A candidate cannot appear in more than one list — your category at the time of application determines which list you are considered under.
Q8
What typing speed is required for the Trade Test (Skill Test)?
+
The Typing Test for Head Constable (Ministerial) requires candidates to demonstrate the following minimum speed (qualifying nature — marks not added to merit):

English Typing: Minimum 35 words per minute (wpm) on a computer keyboard
Hindi Typing: Minimum 30 words per minute (wpm) on a computer keyboard using Mangal font (Unicode) or Krutidev font as specified

Candidates can choose either English or Hindi for the Typing Test. Non-appearance in the Typing Test or failure to achieve the minimum speed leads to disqualification from the selection process. Practice regularly using official government-standard typing software and test yourself under timed conditions.
