🚫 Critical Points Before You Apply
  • A candidate can apply for multiple post groups, but must submit a separate application and pay a separate fee for each group
  • For posts requiring professional registration (Nursing Council, Pharmacy Council, MBBS/paramedical councils), a valid and current registration certificate is mandatory at the time of application or document verification
  • If a candidate qualifies the CBT but fails the skill test, they remain eligible only for posts within the same group that do not require a skill test — refer to Annexure-V
  • Skill tests apply to specific groups: Junior Administrative Assistant (typing), Stenographer (stenography), Programmer (computer skill test), Hindi Translator (translation test), Assistant Security Officer (PST), and Fire Technician (PET & PST)
  • Always verify the institute-specific eligibility — some participating institutes (ICMR bodies, RML Hospital, LHMC, etc.) may have slightly different criteria for the same post title

06
Selection Process
CBT → Skill Test (where applicable) → Document Verification — each stage mandatory to proceed
1

Stage 1 — Online Application (13–30 June 2026)

Candidates register via One-Time Registration (OTR) on aiimsexams.ac.in, then log in to select CRE-5, choose post group(s), fill personal/educational details, upload documents, and pay the fee per group. Review thoroughly before final submission — no corrections allowed afterward.

2

Stage 2 — Application Status Publication (~09 July 2026)

AIIMS publishes the acceptance/rejection status of all submitted applications. If rejected, the reason is displayed (e.g., document mismatch, fee not realised, category certificate issue). There may be a brief window to address minor discrepancies — monitor your dashboard closely.

3

Stage 3 — Computer Based Test (CBT), 25–27 July 2026 (Tentative)

A 100-question objective test worth 400 marks, conducted across multiple shifts and centres nationwide. The syllabus typically covers General Awareness, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, and post-specific/domain knowledge depending on the group applied for. Admit cards are released shortly before the exam via the OTR login.

4

Stage 4 — Skill Test (For Specified Post Groups Only)

Candidates shortlisted from CBT for post groups requiring a skill component undergo: typing test (Junior Administrative Assistant), stenography test (Stenographer), computer skill test (Programmer), translation test (Hindi Translator), or Physical Standard/Endurance Test — PST/PET (Assistant Security Officer, Fire Technician). Refer to Annexure-V for the complete scheme and qualifying criteria for each.

5

Stage 5 — Document Verification & Final Allotment

Candidates clearing CBT (and skill test, if applicable) undergo document verification — covering educational certificates, professional council registrations, category/EWS/PwBD certificates, and experience proofs. Final merit and institute-wise allocation is published based on combined performance and preference.

📊 Why CRE Format Benefits Candidates

Unlike individual AIIMS recruitment drives where you'd need to apply separately to each institute, CRE-5 lets you compete for posts across 28 institutes through a single CBT per post group. Your CBT score (and skill test, if applicable) is then used to allocate you to one of the participating institutes based on merit, category, and preferences — saving significant time and application effort.

07
How to Apply Online
Step-by-step guide via aiimsexams.ac.in — OTR is mandatory before applying
1

Download & Study the Full DRA (Advt. No. 93/2026)

Visit aiimsexams.ac.in and download the complete Detailed Recruitment Advertisement. Pay special attention to Annexure-II (institute-wise & category-wise vacancy breakdown) and Annexure-V (skill test scheme) to identify which post group(s) you are eligible for.

2

Complete One-Time Registration (OTR)

If you haven't registered on the AIIMS exam portal before, complete the OTR with your basic details — name, DOB, mobile number, email, and a valid photo ID. A unique Registration ID and login credentials will be created. If you already have an OTR account from a previous AIIMS exam, simply log in with existing credentials.

3

Select CRE-5 and Choose Your Post Group(s)

Log in to your OTR account, navigate to CRE-5 Recruitment, and select the post group(s) you wish to apply for. Remember — each group requires a separate application form and separate fee. Choose wisely based on your qualification and the institute-wise vacancies in Annexure-II.

4

Fill Personal, Educational & Category Details

Enter all details exactly as per your certificates — name, date of birth, category (UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PwBD), educational qualifications, and professional registration numbers (if applicable for your post). Double-check spellings — these cannot be corrected after submission.

5

Upload Documents — Photo, Signature & Certificates

Upload a recent passport-size photograph, your signature, and scanned copies of educational certificates, category certificates, and professional registration certificates as specified in the portal's file size/format guidelines. Blurry or incorrectly formatted uploads can lead to application rejection at the status-check stage.

6

Pay the Fee & Submit

Pay ₹3,000 (UR/OBC) or ₹2,400 (SC/ST/EWS) per post group via the online payment gateway — PwBD candidates are exempted. After successful payment, click final submit. Download and print the confirmation page for each application — you'll need this for future reference and as proof of submission.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about AIIMS CRE-5 2026
What is the last date to apply for AIIMS CRE-5 2026?+
The online application window is open from 13 June 2026 to 30 June 2026, up to 5:00 PM. No applications will be accepted after the portal closes, regardless of payment attempts made after the deadline. AIIMS strongly advises applying at least 2–3 days early to avoid last-minute server congestion, which is common for high-vacancy CRE drives.
Can I apply for more than one post group under CRE-5?+
Yes. CRE-5 allows candidates to apply for multiple post groups (out of the 57 available) provided they meet the eligibility criteria for each. However, you must submit a completely separate application form and pay a separate fee for each post group — there is no combined "multi-select" application with a single fee. Plan which groups to apply for based on your qualifications and the vacancy distribution in Annexure-II.
Is there a single exam for all 1,484 posts, or separate exams per institute?+
CRE-5 conducts one common CBT per post group — not per institute. So if you apply for "Junior Engineer (Civil)", your CBT score for that group is used to rank you against all other applicants for that group across all participating institutes, and you are allocated to an institute based on merit, category, and preference. This is the core advantage of the "Common Recruitment Examination" format — one exam effort covers vacancies at 28 institutes for that post group.
What if I clear the CBT but fail the skill test for my post group?+
If your applied post group has sub-posts that don't require a skill test, you remain eligible for consideration against those sub-posts within the same group, as per the merit list. However, you will be out of contention for the specific posts requiring the skill test you failed. The exact mechanics for each group are detailed in Annexure-V of the DRA — review this carefully for your chosen group before applying.
Will candidates get to choose their preferred AIIMS institute?+
Institute allocation under CRE is generally based on merit rank, category, and candidate preference (where collected) against the vacancy distribution specified in Annexure-II. Higher merit rank generally gives a candidate a better chance of allocation to their preferred institute, but this is not guaranteed — allocation depends on vacancy availability in each institute for that specific post group and category combination at the time of final allotment.
Is the SC/ST application fee really refundable?+
Yes, conditionally. SC/ST candidates pay a reduced fee of ₹2,400 (compared to ₹3,000 for UR/OBC). If an SC/ST candidate actually appears for the CBT, this fee is refunded after the result is declared. However, if the candidate does not appear for the exam despite applying, the fee is forfeited like any other non-refundable fee. EWS and OBC candidates do not get this refund benefit regardless of attendance.
What is the expected salary for AIIMS CRE-5 Group B and Group C posts?+
Pay follows the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Matrix, ranging from Pay Level 1–2 (around ₹18,000–₹25,000 basic for Group C support roles like MTS) up to Pay Level 8 (around ₹47,600+ basic for Senior Nursing Officer and similar Group B roles). Actual gross salary including DA, HRA, and other Central Government allowances is typically significantly higher than the basic pay figure — varying by city classification of the posting institute.
I missed CRE-4. Will there be a CRE-6 after this?+
AIIMS conducts CRE drives periodically based on accumulated vacancies across participating institutes — there is no fixed annual schedule. CRE-5 is the current cycle; a future CRE-6 would depend on new vacancy positions arising across AIIMS and partner institutes after CRE-5 placements are completed. Candidates are advised to register for email/SMS alerts on aiimsexams.ac.in to be notified the moment a new CRE notification is released.
