You apply once and appear in a single Preliminary Exam, then get shortlisted for the Main Exam based on marks. You must indicate preferred posts/cadres at application time. SMVN has a standalone separate Main Exam; the other 4 cadres share a Combined Main Exam.
2What is the age limit and which date is it calculated on?Crucial date for age is 01 October 2026. General/Open candidates: 19–38 years. Reserved category: up to 43 years. Ex-servicemen get service period + 3 years added. Divyang/PwD get relaxation to 45 years. No relaxation on any other ground.
