08. Selection Process

Screening → Written Test / GD / Interview — management reserves right to conduct multi-stage process

Management’s Right to Multi-Stage Process: NGEL management reserves the right to conduct a multi-stage selection process — which may include application shortlisting/screening (based on qualification %, marks, years of experience), Written Test, Group Discussion, and/or Interview — or any combination thereof. The management may also raise the minimum eligibility standards/criteria at any stage as per requirement. Mere submission of a valid application does not guarantee a call for interview/test.

Stage 1 — Application Screening / Shortlisting
NGEL will screen all received applications based on qualification percentage, years of total experience, years of RE-specific experience, and other criteria as applicable. Only candidates meeting the threshold set by NGEL management will be called for the next stage. NGEL may raise the bar above the minimum advertised criteria to manage candidate volume.

Stage 2 — Written Test / Group Discussion (if applicable)
Depending on the number of shortlisted candidates, NGEL may conduct a Written Test and/or Group Discussion (GD). The written test will likely cover domain technical knowledge (RE sector — Solar/Wind/BESS/Finance as applicable), general management, and analytical aptitude. Exact pattern and syllabus will be communicated to shortlisted candidates.

Stage 3 — Personal Interview
Candidates who qualify the written test/GD are called for a Personal Interview by the NGEL selection panel. The interview will assess technical competency, leadership skills (for E-6), RE sector experience, problem-solving ability, and cultural fit with NGEL’s mission to achieve 60 GW renewable capacity by 2032. Interview location will be communicated via email.

Stage 4 — Document Verification
Selected candidates must produce all original documents — 10th certificate (DOB proof), engineering marksheets/CA/CMA certificate, experience certificates in chronological order (appointment letter, promotion orders, relieving letter, 2 pay slips per year), Aadhaar, PAN, caste/disability certificates as applicable, NOC from current employer (PSU/Govt.), and Form-16 for last 3 years (private sector). Any mismatch leads to disqualification.

Stage 5 — Medical Examination & Appointment
Finally selected candidates undergo a medical fitness examination at a specified government hospital (minimum district hospital level). Medical norms are available on the NGEL website at www.ngel.in — all applicants are advised to review them before applying. No relaxation in prescribed health standards is allowed. Medically fit candidates receive appointment orders and are posted to NGEL locations across India.
