Punjab Police has officially released Advertisement No. 01/2026 inviting online applications for Constable posts in District Cadre and Armed Police Cadre. Apply online from 10 March to 30 March 2026 at the official portal.

Ex-Servicemen → Matriculation (10th pass) is sufficient.
Punjabi Language (Mandatory for ALL) → Must have passed Punjabi at Matriculation level as a compulsory or elective subject (or equivalent exam) on or before 01 January 2026. No exemption.
SC / BC (Punjab residents) → Age relaxation as per Punjab Govt. rules
Ex-Servicemen → Actual service period deducted; resultant age not to exceed max limit by more than 3 years
Serving Govt. Employees → Upper age relaxed to 33 years
Transgender Candidates → Treated at par with female candidates for PST/PMT standards

PST is qualifying only — marks are not counted in the final merit list.
- Candidates who have obtained citizenship, permanent residency, or green card of any foreign country.
- Candidates without Punjabi language at Matriculation level — this is mandatory for all categories without exception.
- Candidates who have not completed 10+2 on or before 01 January 2026 (Ex-Servicemen are exempt from this rule).
- Selected candidates will NOT be posted in their home district, as per Punjab Govt. instructions dated 21.05.2020.
- Candidates with criminal convictions or pending serious criminal cases as per applicable government service rules.
Computer-Based Test – Paper I Merit-Based
100 MCQs covering 6 subjects: General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English Skills, Punjabi Skills, and Digital Literacy. Duration: 2 hours. No negative marking. Marks in Paper I form the entire final merit rank — this is the only stage that counts.
Computer-Based Test – Paper II Qualifying Only
50 MCQs on Punjabi Language. Duration: 1 hour. Minimum 25 marks (50%) required to pass. Paper II marks are NOT added to merit — but failing it means disqualification even if Paper I score is excellent.
Physical Measurement Test (PMT) Qualifying Only
Verification of height and chest measurements against prescribed physical standards. Candidates not meeting the criteria are disqualified at this stage and cannot proceed to PST.
Physical Screening Test (PST) Qualifying Only
Running, Long Jump, and High Jump events as per gender and age-specific standards. Marks are not added to merit. Both PMT and PST must be cleared to advance to document verification.
Document Verification (DV)
Candidates who clear all qualifying stages are called to verify original certificates and documents. Any discrepancy or forgery leads to immediate disqualification and may result in legal action.

Complete New Registration
Click on "New Registration". Enter your full name, gender, date of birth, valid email address, and active mobile number. Save the User ID and Password received — you will need these for all future logins.
Login and Fill the Application Form
Use your credentials to login. Fill all personal details, educational qualifications, category, and district preference accurately. Double-check every entry — changes may not be possible after final submission.
Upload Photo and Signature
Upload a recent passport-size photograph and scanned signature strictly per the size and format specifications on the portal. Blurry, wrong-format, or oversized uploads may lead to application rejection.
Pay Application Fee
Pay via Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI. Fee is strictly non-refundable once paid. Ensure you pay as per your correct category to avoid complications during document verification.
Final Submit and Save Confirmation
Review all details one final time, then click Final Submit. Download and print the submitted application and payment receipt for your records. Deadline: 30 March 2026 (23:55 hrs).
- General / All Candidates: Passed 10+2 (Senior Secondary) or equivalent from a recognized Board on or before 01 January 2026.
- Ex-Servicemen: Matriculation (10th pass) is sufficient — no 10+2 required.

- Stage 2 – CBT Paper II (50 marks, Qualifying): Punjabi language test. Minimum 50% (25 marks) required to pass. Marks not added to merit.
- Stage 3 – Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Height and chest verification. Qualifying stage only.
- Stage 4 – Physical Screening Test (PST): Running, Long Jump, High Jump. Qualifying stage only.
- Stage 5 – Document Verification: Final verification of original certificates and eligibility documents.
- Male Candidates: Minimum height of 170.2 cm (5 feet 7 inches), chest unexpanded 83 cm, chest expanded 87 cm (minimum 4 cm expansion mandatory).
- Female / Transgender Candidates: Minimum height of 157.5 cm (5 feet 2 inches). No chest measurement required.
- PST for Males (under 35 years): 1600m run, Long Jump, and High Jump.
- PST for Females / Transgender: 800m run, Long Jump, and High Jump.
