📋 How Final Merit is Prepared

The final merit list for appointment is prepared based on the combined marks of Paper-I and Paper-II (total 400 marks). The selection is done region-wise and post-preference-wise — candidates who exercised similar preferences compete against each other in their respective regions. Paper-II alone does not determine the final merit — both papers together decide the final ranking. Candidates must pass the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I to have their Paper-II assessed.

08
What To Do After Paper-II Result
Check roll number → await DV call → carry originals → verify appointment posting
📋 Appearing in Result ≠ Confirmed Appointment

The Paper-II Result shortlists candidates for Document Verification (DV) — it does not mean final appointment. DV is conducted by individual User Departments / Ministries. Candidates must produce all original documents proving their eligibility. Any mismatch in educational qualification, age, category certificate, or other eligibility condition leads to rejection even after the result. Candidates with withheld results must await official communication from SSC.

1

Step 1 — Download the Result PDF & Find Your Roll Number

Visit ssc.gov.in → Results section → look for the link titled "Combined Hindi Translators Examination, 2025 — Paper-II Result". Download the PDF. Use Ctrl+F to search for your roll number or name in the PDF. The roll numbers are listed category-wise. Finding your roll number in the PDF means you are shortlisted for Document Verification. Also download the final marks PDF when it is uploaded separately on ssc.gov.in (for both shortlisted and non-shortlisted candidates).

2

Step 2 — Await Document Verification (DV) Call from User Department

Document Verification is conducted by the respective User Departments / Ministries — not by SSC centrally. SSC forwards the shortlisted candidates' details to the concerned departments. Keep your registered email and mobile number active. DV schedule and reporting instructions will be sent by the respective departments. This process may take a few weeks to several months after the result date.

3

Step 3 — Attend Document Verification with All Originals

Carry all original documents (educational certificates — all degrees and marksheets, Aadhaar, category certificate, age proof, Translation Diploma/Experience Certificate if applicable) along with 2 sets of self-attested photocopies. For BRO candidates, also prepare for Physical Efficiency Test. Any document not produced on the DV date leads to disqualification — the next candidate in merit takes the position. Do NOT laminate certificates.

4

Step 4 — Final Appointment Order Issued by User Department

Candidates cleared at DV receive the appointment order from their respective Ministry / Department / Organisation. Posting is determined by region-wise preference exercised at the time of application. Joining formalities — medical fitness certificate, joining report, opening of salary account — are completed as directed in the appointment order. Initial posting is typically at the Ministry/Department headquarters or regional offices.
