Tiebreak Rules
1st: Candidate with NCC Grade-C Certificate or valid NSS Certificate gets preference.
2nd: If still tied, the older candidate (earlier date of birth) is ranked higher.
Selection Process & Counselling
Entrance Examination (26 April 2026)
Offline OMR-based exam at designated centres across Jharkhand. Candidates must carry admit card + valid photo ID. Mobile phones, smartwatches, and electronic devices are strictly prohibited in the exam hall.
Answer Key & Result Publication
JCECEB releases a provisional answer key after the exam at bedcet.jceceb.org.in. Candidates can raise objections within the stipulated window. The final answer key and result are published after objection resolution. Scorecards are available for download using login credentials.
State-Level Merit List
JCECEB prepares a separate merit list for each course (B.Ed / M.Ed / B.P.Ed / M.P.Ed) and category. The merit list ranks candidates based solely on their entrance exam score. In case of tie, NCC/NSS preference and then older age applies.
Online Counselling Registration & Choice Filling
Qualified candidates register for counselling on bedcet.jceceb.org.in and fill preferences for colleges and courses. College preferences must be filled carefully — higher-ranked preferences improve the chance of getting a preferred institution. Preferences can be edited before locking.
Seat Allotment & Provisional Allotment Letter
Seats are allotted based on merit rank + category + college preferences. A provisional allotment letter (PAL) is issued. Candidates may get a better seat in subsequent counselling rounds if they retain their candidature. Multiple rounds are typically conducted.
Document Verification & Admission Confirmation
Candidates must report to the allotted B.Ed institution with all original documents and the allotment letter. After DV, course fee is paid to the institution to confirm admission. Failure to report within the deadline results in forfeiture of the allotted seat.
Documents Required
Keep originals + two self-attested photocopies of each document ready for the counselling/DV stage. Documents must match exactly what was declared in the application form.
