SSC CPO Paper I Result 2026 — Everything You Need to Know

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Central Police Organisations (CPO) examination for recruiting Sub-Inspectors (SI) for Delhi Police and the five Central Armed Police Forces — BSF, CRPF, CISF, SSB, and ITBP. This is one of the most coveted uniformed service examinations in India, attracting lakhs of applicants every year from across the country.

The Paper I CBT (Computer Based Test) for the 2025-26 cycle was conducted over four days from 09 to 12 December 2025 in two shifts daily. After a wait of approximately 3.5 months since the exam, SSC has now officially released the Paper I result on 30 March 2026. Along with the result PDFs, SSC has also released the category-wise and gender-wise cut-off marks for this stage. A total of 48,615 candidates — out of all those who appeared — have been shortlisted for the next stage, which is the Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST).

It is important to note that the individual marks scored and the detailed scorecard have NOT been released with the result PDF at this time. Marks will be made available through the Candidate Login section of ssc.gov.in at a later date. For now, candidates can check their Roll Number in the result PDF to determine if they have qualified for PET/PST.

What's Next After Paper I Result? — Complete Selection Process
🏋️
Stage 2 — Physical Endurance Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates shortlisted in Paper I will next appear for PET and PST, conducted by the respective CAPFs at designated centres. The PST checks physical measurements — height, weight, and chest (for males). The PET tests physical fitness through running, long jump, high jump, and other events. Both are qualifying in nature — they do not add marks to the final merit. Candidates must fulfil both standards to proceed.

PET Standards (indicative):
  • Male: 100m race in 16 seconds, 1.6 km in 6.5 minutes, Long Jump 3.65m, High Jump 1.2m, Shot Put 4.5m (7.26 kg)
  • Female: 100m in 18 seconds, 800m in 4 minutes, Long Jump 2.7m, High Jump 0.9m, Shot Put 3m (4 kg)
PST Standards (indicative):
  • Male (UR/OBC/EWS): Height 170 cm; Chest 80–85 cm (5 cm expansion)
  • Female (UR/OBC/EWS): Height 157 cm; Weight 48 kg
  • Relaxed standards for SC/ST, Hill area, and North-Eastern candidates as per SSC rules
Exact PET/PST schedule and admission certificates will be announced by SSC on ssc.gov.in.
✍️
Stage 3 — Paper II (English Language & Comprehension)
Candidates who qualify PET/PST will appear for Paper II, which tests English language skills essential for a Sub-Inspector's duties. Paper II is a descriptive and objective exam covering:
  • Grammar and usage — Articles, Prepositions, Tenses, Modals
  • Vocabulary — Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms, Phrases
  • Reading Comprehension passages
  • Spotting Errors, Sentence Improvement, Active/Passive Voice
  • Cloze Test, Para Jumbles
Total marks: 200 (2-hour duration). Minimum qualifying marks apply. The final merit list is prepared based on combined scores of Paper I + Paper II (after qualifying PET/PST and Medical).
🏥
Stage 4 — Medical Examination & Document Verification
Candidates shortlisted after Paper II undergo a comprehensive medical examination to ensure they meet the physical and medical standards required for uniformed service. Medical standards cover vision, hearing, dental fitness, general health, and absence of disqualifying conditions. Following medical examination, document verification is conducted to confirm educational qualifications, category certificates, identity, and age proof. Only candidates who clear all four stages — Paper I, PET/PST, Paper II, and Medical — are considered for final appointment.
📊
Final Selection & Merit List
The final merit list is prepared based on combined normalised marks of Paper I and Paper II, subject to qualifying PET/PST and Medical standards. The selection is made category-wise and gender-wise against the declared vacancies of 5,308 posts. Selected candidates receive appointment orders for posting as Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police or Sub-Inspector (General Duty) in one of the five CAPFs — BSF, CRPF, CISF, SSB, or ITBP — based on merit and preference.

Are NCC certificate bonus marks included in the SSC CPO 2026 cut off?
No. The official SSC CPO Result 2026 write-up explicitly states that the results have been prepared using normalised marks without including bonus marks for NCC certificate holders. This means the cut-off marks published (e.g., UR Male: 119.47517; UR Female: 128.01610) are calculated purely on the basis of Paper I performance after normalisation, without any NCC bonus addition. NCC bonus marks may be applied at a later stage as per SSC rules.
How is the SSC CPO cut off calculated and what is normalisation?
The SSC CPO cut-off is decided based on several factors: (1) Total number of vacancies (5,308 for 2025-26); (2) Number of candidates appeared in the exam; (3) Difficulty level of the paper; (4) Number of exam shifts conducted; (5) Normalisation of marks across shifts. Normalisation is a process SSC uses to make scores from different exam shifts comparable — since each shift may have a slightly different difficulty level, scores are adjusted mathematically to remove this advantage/disadvantage. The resulting normalised scores are what appear in the cut-off tables (e.g., 119.47517 for Male UR), not raw marks.
