Frequently Asked Questions
JK Bank Apprentices Recruitment 2026 — Complete Q&A including official date extension to 3 May 2026
🚨 What is the new extended last date for JK Bank Apprentices Recruitment 2026?+
The last date has been officially extended to 3 May 2026. JK Bank published an Extension Notice on jkb.bank.in extending the deadline from the original date of 26 April 2026. The IBPS portal at ibpsreg.ibps.in/jkbamar26/ is currently active. Apply immediately — this is the final extended deadline. The Extension Notice PDF is available at jkb.bank.in for reference.
What is the monthly stipend for JK Bank Apprentices 2026?+
JK Bank Apprentices receive a total monthly stipend of ₹13,500 — comprising ₹9,000 paid directly by JK Bank and ₹4,500 disbursed by the Government via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The DBT amount is paid only to first-time apprentices under 35 years of age with a DBT-enabled bank account. Additionally, a conveyance allowance of up to ₹1,250 per month is provided. No other allowances, PF, or gratuity are payable during the 12-month training.
Is NATS portal registration mandatory before applying on the IBPS portal?+
Yes — it is absolutely mandatory. Every candidate must first register at nats.education.gov.in and complete 100% of their profile before applying at ibpsreg.ibps.in/jkbamar26/. The NATS Enrolment Number is a compulsory field in the JK Bank application form — the form cannot be submitted without it. Additionally, your Aadhaar, mobile number, and bank account must be inter-linked with DBT enabled to receive the Government's monthly ₹4,500 share.
Can candidates who graduated before January 2022 apply?+
No. The notification states that candidates must have passed their Graduation on or after 01 January 2022. This is a mandatory NATS requirement — only recent graduates qualify for apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Candidates who graduated in 2021 or earlier are ineligible regardless of any other qualification or experience they may hold.
Will there be a job guarantee in JK Bank after completing the apprenticeship?+
No direct job guarantee. The notification explicitly states that Apprentices have no right to claim any employment in JK Bank after completing the 12-month training. However, for J&K and Ladakh domicile candidates, successful completion provides significant advantages in future JK Bank Banking Associate recruitment — an additional 2.5 marks out of 100 added to the written test score and a 1-year age relaxation across all categories, giving a major competitive edge.
Can I apply for more than one district or cluster?+
No. Each candidate may apply for only one District or ROI Cluster. If multiple applications are submitted, only the latest application will be considered — all earlier ones are automatically discarded. Choose your district carefully based on your domicile, eligibility, and language proficiency. Once posted, the candidate cannot be transferred to any other district during the 12-month training period.
What is the application fee for JK Bank Apprenticeship 2026?+
The application fee is ₹700 (inclusive of GST) for General/EWS candidates and ₹500 (inclusive of GST) for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwBD candidates. Payment is online only through ibpsreg.ibps.in/jkbamar26/. The fee is non-refundable under any circumstance. Fee payment also closes on 3 May 2026 — the extended last date.
What is the exam pattern for JK Bank Apprentice 2026?+
The Online Written Test is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) of 100 questions / 100 marks / 60 minutes. Two time-bound sections — Section 1: General Awareness & English Comprehension (50 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes) and Section 2: Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning Ability (50 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes). The exam is in English medium only. Negative marking of 1/4 mark per wrong answer applies. Unanswered questions carry no penalty.
Can candidates from outside Jammu & Kashmir apply?+
Yes. Candidates from outside J&K and Ladakh can apply for the ROI (Rest of India) Clusters — Delhi (42 posts), Mumbai/Greater Mumbai (26 posts), Lucknow (20 posts), Bangalore (19 posts), and Mohali (28 posts) — totalling 135 posts. However, the special future recruitment benefits — 2.5 marks weightage in Banking Associate exam and 1-year age relaxation — are exclusively for domicile candidates of J&K and Ladakh.
What happens if an apprentice leaves training before completing 12 months?+
If the apprentice intends to leave before completing the 12-month contract, they must give a prior written notice of one month. If the apprentice leaves/absconds/resigns without giving one month's notice, they are liable to refund the stipend drawn for the last month. In case of termination due to the apprentice's own failure to comply with contract terms, the Bank may also recover training costs as determined by the Apprenticeship Adviser under the Apprentices Act.
