- The RRB will not undertake detailed scrutiny of applications for eligibility at the time of application — candidature is accepted only provisionally, subject to fulfilling all eligibility criteria
- Candidates must satisfy themselves they meet the educational qualification, age, and medical standards before applying
- Certificates/documents in support of Educational Qualification, Age, Caste/Category, etc. are sought only at the time of Document Verification
- If any claim made in the application is not substantiated by certificates/documents at DV, the candidature will be cancelled

- 1/3rd mark deducted for every incorrect answer — there is no negative marking for unattempted/unanswered questions

- If the CBT is conducted across multiple shifts, scores will be normalised to ensure fairness across shifts
- There is no separate Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for Technician posts (unlike NTPC’s Traffic Assistant/Station Master posts)
- Minimum qualifying marks listed above are different from the actual cutoff, which varies year-to-year based on vacancy count and competition
- Selection is purely merit-based on CBT score — no interview is conducted at any stage
Online Application — 30 June to 29 July 2026
Candidates create an account (or use existing CEN account), select CEN 02/2026 — Technician, choose one RRB and one Pay Level, and complete the application with personal, educational, and category details. Upload photo, signature, and required documents. Pay the applicable fee. A separate application + fee is required for each Pay Level (Grade I and Grade III are different Pay Levels).
Computer Based Test (CBT) — Single Stage
100 objective MCQs, 100 marks, 90 minutes, with 1/3rd negative marking per wrong answer. Held across 200+ exam centres nationwide in multiple shifts. Admit card released ~4 days before exam; Exam City Intimation Slip ~10 days before. This is the only test stage — performance here determines eligibility for Document Verification.
Document Verification (DV)
Candidates shortlisted based on CBT merit and post/zone preference are called for DV. Original documents — 10th certificate, ITI certificate (Grade III) / Degree-Diploma certificate (Grade I), category certificate, age proof, photo ID — are verified against application claims. Any mismatch results in cancellation of candidature.
Medical Examination
Candidates who clear DV undergo a Medical Examination conducted by Railway Administration as per prescribed medical standards for Technician posts. Candidates with physical/visual disability must submit the disability form with supporting documents. Only candidates declared medically fit proceed to final selection.
Final Merit List & Appointment
Final selection is based on CBT merit, subject to successful DV and Medical clearance. Selected candidates are posted to various Zonal Railways and Production Units as per RRB/zone choice exercised at application, subject to vacancy position at the time of allotment.

Register / Create Account Carefully
Enter basic details — Name, Date of Birth, Aadhaar Number, Mobile Number, Email ID. Verify via OTP sent to mobile and email. These details cannot be changed later once the account is created — double-check before submitting.
Select CEN 02/2026 and Choose RRB + Pay Level
Log in with your generated credentials. Choose “CEN No. 02/2026 (Technician)” and select your preferred RRB Zone. You can apply for only ONE RRB per Pay Level. If applying for both Grade I Signal (Level 5) and Grade III (Level 2), you must submit two separate applications with separate fees.
Fill Details, Upload Documents & Set Preferences
Carefully fill personal, address, category, and educational/technical qualification details exactly as per official documents. Upload scanned passport photo, signature, and category certificate (if applicable) per prescribed format. Select your Zonal Railway/PU preferences — candidates with partial options are considered only for opted Zonal Railways; no option given means unwillingness for that zone.
Pay Fee & Submit
Pay the applicable fee (₹500 or ₹250) through available online payment methods. Review every detail carefully — most fields cannot be edited after final submission except within a limited correction window. Submit and download/save the application PDF for future reference.
