IB conducts detailed character and antecedents (C&A) verification — this involves background checks at your current and permanent address through local police/intelligence machinery. Any discrepancy or adverse report in C&A verification results in disqualification.

Step 4 — Medical Examination
Candidates cleared in C&A verification are called for medical examination at Central Govt. designated medical centres. Physical fitness, vision (including colour vision), hearing, and general health are checked as per GoI medical standards for Group C Central Govt. posts. Candidates declared medically unfit lose the selection.
