📋 How Final Selection Was Determined

Final merit for the ACIO-II/Exe 2025 exam is based on the combined marks of Tier-I (100), Tier-II (50), and Tier-III Interview (100) — total 250 marks. Candidates who cleared Tier-I were shortlisted for Tier-II at 10 times the number of vacancies. Those who cleared Tier-II were called for the Tier-III interview. Final merit list (category-wise) was prepared from combined Tier-I + Tier-II + Tier-III scores. Roll numbers in the published result are in ascending order and do NOT reflect merit rank. Candidates marked (P) are provisional — their candidature depends on document verification.

Post-Result Next Steps
What selected candidates must do after result — C&A verification → medical → appointment
📋 Appearance in Result ≠ Final Selection

Appearing in the final result list only means the candidate has provisionally qualified all three examination stages. Final appointment is subject to: satisfactory Character & Antecedents verification, medical examination, and confirmation that all eligibility conditions (age, qualification, category, nationality) are met. Candidates with (P) marking have an additional document submission requirement.

1

Step 1 — Check Your Roll Number in the Official PDF

Download the official Final Result PDF from mha.gov.in. Search for your roll number in the category (UR/EWS/OBC/SC/ST) under which you applied. Remember — roll numbers are in ascending order, NOT merit order. If your roll number appears, you are provisionally selected (subject to further verification). If marked with (P), you must submit pending documents immediately when notified by IB.

2

Step 2 — Await Communication from IB for Document Submission

IB will send official communication (via email/post) to selected candidates for document submission and character & antecedents (C&A) verification. Keep your registered email and phone number active. Documents typically required: original educational certificates, Aadhaar, category certificate, address proof, and photographs. Do not change your email/phone after the result is declared.

3

Step 3 — Character & Antecedents (C&A) Verification

IB conducts detailed character and antecedents (C&A) verification — this involves background checks at your current and permanent address through local police/intelligence machinery. This process typically takes 3–6 months or longer depending on the region. Candidates must ensure their permanent address details are accurate. Any discrepancy or adverse report in C&A verification results in disqualification.

4

Step 4 — Medical Examination

Candidates cleared in C&A verification are called for medical examination at Central Govt. designated medical centres. Physical fitness, vision (including colour vision), hearing, and general health are checked as per GoI medical standards for Group C Central Govt. posts. Candidates declared medically unfit lose the selection.

5

Step 5 — Appointment to ACIO Grade-II/Executive Post

Candidates who clear all preceding stages receive the appointment order from Intelligence Bureau. They are posted at IB offices/field units across the country. Initial posting location is at the discretion of IB. Appointment brings entry at Level 7 (₹44,900 per month) with all Central Govt. service benefits.

Frequently Asked Questions
IB ACIO Final Result 2025 — all common questions answered
When was the IB ACIO 2025 Final Result declared?+
The Final Result of the IB ACIO-II/Executive Examination 2025 was declared on 03 June 2026 by the Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs. The result PDF lists roll numbers of selected candidates category-wise — Unreserved (UR), EWS, OBC, SC, and ST — in ascending order. The result is published on the official MHA website at mha.gov.in.
How many candidates were selected in IB ACIO 2025?+
The IB ACIO 2025 recruitment drive was conducted for a total of 3,717 vacancies. The category-wise distribution is: UR — 1537 | OBC — 946 | SC — 566 | EWS — 442 | ST — 226. All 3,717 positions are for the post of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Executive.
My roll number appears in the result PDF — does that mean I am confirmed selected?+
Not yet confirmed. Appearing in the result list means you have provisionally qualified all three tiers (Tier-I, Tier-II, Tier-III Interview). However, the final result notification clearly states: "mere qualifying in Tier-I, Tier-II & Interview and submission of AF & SSQ does not confer any right to the candidate to claim candidature for the post." Final appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of Character & Antecedents verification, medical examination, and fulfillment of all eligibility conditions including age, qualification, and category.
What does "(P)" next to my roll number mean?+
Roll numbers marked with (P) indicate Provisional Selection — the candidate has been selected provisionally because they did not submit required information or documents at the time of document verification or interview. These candidates must urgently submit all pending documents when notified by IB. If documents are not submitted within the given timeframe, the provisional selection is cancelled. Similarly, ESM(P) refers to Ex-Servicemen with provisional status.
Are the roll numbers in the result in merit order?+
No. The official IB ACIO result notification explicitly states: "For the convenience of candidates, the roll numbers are given in ascending order and these are NOT in the order of merit." This means the position of your roll number in the list has no relation to your rank or merit score. All candidates whose roll numbers appear in the list (within their respective categories) are equally selected, subject to further verification.
What are the next steps after the final result for selected candidates?+
Selected candidates should: (1) Confirm their roll number in the official result PDF from mha.gov.in. (2) Keep their registered email and contact number active — IB will send official communication. (3) Prepare all original documents (educational certificates, Aadhaar, category certificate, photographs). (4) Await IB's call for document submission and Character & Antecedents (C&A) verification. (5) Subsequently appear for Medical Examination. (6) Upon clearing all stages, receive the appointment order for ACIO Grade-II/Executive post.
What is the salary of IB ACIO Grade-II/Executive?+
Selected candidates will be appointed at Level 7 of the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix — basic pay ₹44,900 per month, which goes up to ₹1,42,400 at the top. In addition, they receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA based on city), Transport Allowance (TA), CGHS medical coverage, NPS pension, LTC, and all other Central Government admissible allowances. Effective in-hand salary at entry is approximately ₹55,000–₹65,000 per month depending on the city of posting.
A reserved category candidate appears in the UR section of the result — why?+
This is standard practice in Central Govt. recruitments. As stated in the result notification: "Candidates belonging to EWS, OBC, SC & ST category but figuring under Unreserved category means that they have qualified on UR standards." This means these candidates scored high enough to be selected even without category reservation — their merit meets the UR cutoff. Their category tag is still shown alongside the roll number for identification. This does not affect their appointment.
What were the exam dates for IB ACIO 2025 across all three tiers?+
The complete timeline: Tier-I (Computer Based Test) — September 16, 17 & 18, 2025 | Tier-I Result — November 21, 2025 | Tier-II (Descriptive Exam) — January 11, 2026 | Tier-II Result — March 5, 2026 | Tier-III Interview Admit Card — March 26, 2026 | Tier-III Interviews — April 1–30, 2026 | Final Result — June 3, 2026.
