These five posts alone account for 201 vacancies; the remaining 6 vacancies are split between Zonal Head (Retail) and Regional Head (RH) posts, which also carry a small number of backlog vacancies reserved for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD categories.

Important rules on Circle selection: For the five circle-based posts, candidates must indicate three different Circle preferences while applying. Repeating a Circle by mistake, or any incorrect selection, is resolved entirely at the Bank’s discretion — this decision is final, and no request for change of Circle preference is entertained at any stage. If you don’t get any of your chosen Circles, your candidature may still be considered for other Circles.

Note: Vacancies mentioned are indicative, and the Bank reserves the right to transfer selected officers to any SBI office in India, or depute them to any associate/subsidiary organisation, based on service requirements. Requests for a specific posting location will not be entertained.

5. Selection Process

  1. Shortlisting: Meeting the minimum qualification and experience does not automatically entitle a candidate to an interview call. A shortlisting committee decides the parameters, and only the number of candidates the Bank decides will be called.
  2. Interview: One or more rounds of personal, telephonic, or video interview, carrying 100 marks. Qualifying marks are decided by the Bank.
  3. CTC Negotiation: Conducted individually with each candidate, either during or after the interview process.
  4. Merit List: Prepared in descending order of interview marks only. If candidates tie at the cut-off, the older candidate (by age) is ranked higher.

Shortlisting is provisional, without verification of original documents — final candidature is subject to document verification at the time of the interview.

6. Salary & Remuneration (CTC Structure)

This role offers a genuinely high compensation structure compared to typical SBI recruitment:

Similar fixed-pay-plus-variable structures apply to all seven posts, with Fixed Pay ranging from ₹18 lakh (Investment Officer) up to ₹66 lakh (Zonal Head), plus Performance Linked Pay of up to 45% of fixed pay based on performance rating.
