⚠️ Important Cutoff Notes
  • The above are expected/estimated cutoffs based on expert analysis — the official category-wise and district-wise cutoff marks are available at the end of each district’s DV/PST shortlisted PDF at uppbpb.gov.in
  • Cutoff varies district-to-district based on the number of applicants and available vacancies in each district — a district with fewer vacancies and more applicants will have a higher cutoff
  • The minimum qualifying mark is 25/100 — but this alone does NOT guarantee selection; candidates must score at or above the district-level cutoff for their category to appear in the DV/PST shortlist
  • Preference/bonus marks (for NCC, Scout & Guide, Disaster Management certificate, Driving Licence) are added to written exam scores when preparing the merit list — these can prove decisive for borderline candidates
  • Tiebreaker rule: If two candidates score equal marks in the merit list, the older candidate is given preference
  • Experts advise that candidates who correctly attempted 70–75 questions should begin preparing for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) without waiting for results

📌 How Bonus Marks Work in UP Home Guard Merit List

The final merit list for UP Home Guard 2026 is not based solely on raw written exam marks. UPPRPB first normalises the written exam scores (to adjust for any variation across exam shifts/dates) and then adds preference marks for eligible qualifications — NCC certificate (A/B/C grade), Scout & Guide certificate, valid Disaster Management training certificate, and valid motor driving licence (LMV or HMV). These bonus marks are added to the normalised written score to arrive at the final composite score used for district-wise, category-wise merit ranking. Candidates holding any of these certificates must bring the original certificate for verification at the DV stage — without original proof, bonus marks may be cancelled and the merit rank recalculated. Even a small bonus mark addition can make a crucial difference for borderline candidates in competitive districts.

🏃 PET Preparation Advice — Start Today
  • The PET is qualifying in nature — no marks are awarded — but failing means permanent elimination from the selection process, regardless of your written exam score
  • There is only one attempt at the running race — no re-run is allowed under any circumstances
  • For male candidates: start training to complete 4.8 km in under 25 minutes during practice — this creates a buffer for race-day nerves, fatigue, weather, and track conditions
  • For female candidates: train to complete 2.4 km in under 14 minutes during practice for the same reason
  • Build up gradually — start with daily 2–3 km jogs and increase to race distance over 4–6 weeks
  • DV/PST schedule has not yet been released — use this waiting period to train consistently

5

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — Running Race

7

Police Verification & Final Enrolment

On successful completion, candidates are finally enrolled as Home Guard (Swayamsevak) for their respective district. The final merit list for all 41,424 posts is based on the combined process — written exam score (with bonus marks) being the primary ranking factor, with all subsequent stages being qualifying in nature.

Frequently Asked Questions
All important doubts about UP Home Guard Result 2026 answered
UP Home Guard Result 2026 कब जारी हुआ? When was the UP Home Guard Result 2026 released?+
The UP Home Guard (Swayamsevak) Written Examination Result 2026 was officially declared on 28 June 2026 by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB). The result, scorecard, final answer key, and the district-wise DV/PST shortlisted candidates list were all released simultaneously on uppbpb.gov.in and the dedicated exam portal hgupexam2025.com.
How to check UP Home Guard Result 2026 online?+
Visit hgupexam2025.com/hg2025writtentestresults/loginpage.aspx → Enter your Roll Number / Enrollment Number / Registration Number and your Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY) → Click Submit → Your scorecard showing marks, bonus marks, total normalised score, and qualifying status will be displayed → Download and print it. You can also check the DV/PST shortlisted list district-wise PDF at uppbpb.gov.in under the Notifications section.
UP Home Guard Result 2026 में कितने candidates shortlist हुए? How many candidates were shortlisted?+
UPPRPB has shortlisted 1,07,221 candidates for the next stage — Document Verification (DV) and Physical Standard Test (PST). This is approximately 2.6 times the total vacancies of 41,424 posts. The shortlisting is done district-wise and category-wise. Approximately 1.93 crore (1,92,91,550) candidates appeared for the written examination held on 25, 26, and 27 April 2026.
UP Home Guard exam में minimum passing marks क्या है? What is the minimum qualifying marks?+
The mandatory minimum qualifying marks for the UP Home Guard written examination is 25 out of 100 (25%). Candidates who score below 25 marks are not considered for the physical test or any subsequent stage, regardless of any other factors. However, scoring just 25 is far from sufficient for selection — candidates need to score at or above the district-wise, category-wise cutoff to appear in the merit list and get shortlisted for DV/PST. For General category, experts estimate the effective cutoff is in the range of 65–75 marks.
क्या Written Exam के बाद PET/PST qualifying nature का है? Is PET/PST just qualifying?+
Yes. Both the Physical Standard Test (PST) — measuring height, chest/weight — and the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — the running race — are qualifying in nature only. No marks are awarded for these stages. The final merit list for all 41,424 Home Guard posts is based exclusively on marks obtained in the written examination (normalised scores + preference/bonus marks). PST/PET/Medical/Police Verification are all go/no-go gates — failing any one stage means elimination from the entire recruitment, but clearing them does not add marks to your score.
Bonus marks किनको मिलते हैं? Who gets bonus / preference marks in UP Home Guard 2026?+
Candidates holding any of the following valid certificates are eligible for additional preference/bonus marks that are added to their normalised written exam score when preparing the merit list: (1) NCC Certificate — A, B, or C grade; (2) Scout & Guide Certificate; (3) Disaster Management Training Certificate from a recognised authority; (4) Valid Motor Vehicle Driving Licence (LMV or HMV). All such certificates must be produced in original at the Document Verification stage — without original proof, the bonus marks are liable to be cancelled and the merit rank recalculated. Even a small number of bonus marks can be decisive for candidates near the cutoff borderline in competitive districts.
DV/PST का schedule कब आएगा? When will the DV/PST schedule be released?+
The schedule for Document Verification (DV) and Physical Standard Test (PST) has not yet been released as of 28 June 2026. The shortlisted candidates list has been published but the DV/PST date, time, and venue will be announced separately on uppbpb.gov.in. Candidates are advised to regularly check uppbpb.gov.in and the hgupexam2025.com portal for updates. In the meantime, shortlisted candidates should begin collecting original documents and start daily PET running practice without delay.
Final Answer Key से क्या होगा? What is the purpose of the Final Answer Key?+
The Final Answer Key has been released on 28 June 2026 at hgupexam2025.com/hg2025finalkey/Login.aspx. It incorporates all valid objections raised by candidates during the objection window (7–10 May 2026) after the Provisional Answer Key was released on 7 May 2026. The Final Answer Key is used to evaluate all answer sheets and declare the written exam result. Candidates can use it to independently verify their score by matching their OMR responses against the final correct answers. This provides transparency and allows candidates to confirm whether their scorecard accurately reflects their performance.
