Selection Process — 100% Merit Based
📐 Merit List Formula
Merit List Generation (Computerised)
RRC CR generates separate merit lists for each cluster + trade + community combination based solely on the data filled in the online application. Accuracy of data entered is critical — discrepancies found at DV lead to immediate disqualification.
Shortlisting & Call for Document Verification
Candidates ranked within the notified slots (plus a waiting list) are called for Document Verification (DV) at the respective cluster (Mumbai / Bhusawal / Pune / Solapur). Original certificates must be produced.
Medical Fitness Examination
Candidates who clear document verification are referred for a medical fitness examination at a Railway hospital or Government hospital. Candidates must be medically fit as per Railway norms for the applied trade.
Final Engagement & Training Commencement
Candidates who clear DV and Medical are finally engaged as Act Apprentice Trainees. Training period is one year at the respective Railway workshop/unit. On successful completion, a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) is issued by NCVT.
Stipend & Benefits During Training
National Apprenticeship Certificate
On successful completion, NAC (NCVT) is awarded — a nationally recognised credential for skilled trades.
Preference in Group D Recruitment
Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAA) with NAC get preference for up to 20% of Level-1 (Group D) vacancies in future RRC notifications.
Hands-On Railway Training
One full year of practical training inside Railway workshops and divisional units — real equipment, real systems, industry-level skills.
No Hostel — But Flexible Locations
No hostel accommodation is provided. Training is conducted at the candidate's chosen cluster — Mumbai, Bhusawal, Pune, or Solapur.
Documents Required at DV
Keep all originals + two sets of self-attested photocopies ready before the Document Verification date. Missing any document can lead to disqualification.
