📋 Paper II — General Studies II
| Particulars | Details |
|---|---|
| Total Marks (Prelims) | 400 marks (Paper I: 200 + Paper II: 200) |
| Negative Marking | No negative marking — attempt all questions confidently |
| Medium of Exam | Papers set in both Hindi and English |
| OMR Sheet | Use Blue or Black ball-point pen only — fill circles carefully, errors cannot be corrected |
| Prelims in Final Merit? | NO — Prelims marks are NOT counted in final merit. Prelims is a qualifying/screening stage only. Only Mains + Interview marks form the final merit. |
| Biometric/IRIS Verification | Biometric and IRIS scanning will be done at the exam centre — arrive early |
| OMR instructions | Read Admit Card and OMR Sheet instructions carefully before filling circles. Wrong filling can lead to cancellation of candidature — candidates are solely responsible. |
| City Slip (from 8 April) shows the district/headquarters. The exact venue with full address is on the Admit Card (from 14 April 5 PM). These are two separate documents — both must be downloaded. | |
- Since there is no negative marking, attempt every single question — never leave any MCQ blank. Even a guess gives you a chance of 1 correct mark; blank gives zero.
- Paper II (Jharkhand GK) is the differentiator: Most national-level competitive exam aspirants neglect Jharkhand-specific content. This is where state-based candidates have a natural edge. Deep preparation of Jharkhand history, geography, culture, language, and economy is essential to outrank others.
- Biometric + IRIS at exam centres: Arrive by the specified report time (8:00 AM for shift 1, 1:00 PM for shift 2). Allow extra time for queuing at biometric stations — entry gates close before shift start time.

- Don't start new topics now: With the exam on 19 April, focus on revision of what you already know rather than learning new topics
- Jharkhand Paper II is the key: The highest differentiator is Paper II — a few hours of focused revision on Jharkhand tribal history, geography, mineral resources, and current affairs of the last 6 months can significantly boost your score
- Practice previous year papers: Solve the last 3–5 years of JPSC Prelims papers to get familiar with question style and recurring topics
- No negative marking = attempt everything: Go through all MCQs; prioritise your known answers first, then attempt doubtful ones — never skip any question
- Sleep well the night before: A well-rested brain performs better than frantic all-night revision the day before the exam
- Candidates with benchmark disabilities who require a scribe (Shrutlekha / लेखक) must visit their exam centre 3 days before the exam date (i.e., by 16 April 2026)
- Carry the required medical certificate (Vishesh Chikitsa Praman Patra — Special Medical Certificate) along when requesting the scribe
- Submit a written application (Prarthana Patra — prayer letter) to the Centre Superintendent — who will then make the necessary arrangements for scribe provision
- Do NOT wait until exam day to request a scribe — advance notice is mandatory
- Scribe arrangements are at the discretion of the Centre Superintendent based on the supporting medical documentation
