🔑 Key Changes in 2025 Mains Pattern vs Earlier Years
- Optional subjects eliminated entirely — Previously candidates chose 2 optional subjects (400 marks). Now all 8 papers are compulsory with no choice.
- Two new UP-specific papers added (Papers VII and VIII — 200 marks each) — These test deep knowledge of UP history, culture, economy, governance, agriculture, and current affairs specific to Uttar Pradesh.

Exam Day Checklist — 4-Day UPPSC PCS Mains 2026 (What to Carry Each Day)

Can I answer in English in UPPSC PCS Mains 2026?
