Eligibility Criteria
Option B: Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks + 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed. (by whatever name known).
Option C: Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks + 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed. in accordance with NCTE Recognition Norms and Procedure Regulations, 2002.
Option D: Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks + 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
Option E: Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks + 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
Option F: Graduation + 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed. (by whatever name known).
Option G: Post-Graduation with min. 55% marks or equivalent grade + 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
Maximum Age: 45 years (General/UR category)
Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC/PWD/HP Govt. Employees/Ex-Servicemen of Himachal Pradesh get up to 5 years relaxation as per HP Department of Personnel orders.
- The closing date of ORA (06.04.2026) is the cut-off for all essential qualifications and experience.
- OBC/BPL/EWS/WFF category certificate validity must be maintained throughout the selection process.
- OBC certificate validity: 1 year from date of issuance. EWS certificate validity: 1 year. Must be valid at time of document verification.
- SC/ST certificate must be on parental basis — failing which candidature will be rejected.
- NCTE-prescribed minimum qualification at the time of advertisement publication shall also be considered as part of these R&P Rules.

- Child Development & Pedagogy: Principles of child development, learning theories, inclusive education, child psychology, assessment and evaluation
- Language I – Hindi: Grammar, comprehension, prose, poetry, teaching methodology for primary level
- Language II – English: Grammar, comprehension, unseen passages, language skills, basic phonetics
- Mathematics: Number system, arithmetic, geometry, measurement, data handling, problem solving (primary level)

- Teaching Methodology: NCF 2005 principles, activity-based learning, classroom management, formative assessment
- HP History: Ancient, medieval and modern history of Himachal Pradesh; princely states; merger with India

Selection Process
Online Application Scrutiny
HPRCA scrutinizes all ORA forms. Provisionally admitted and rejected candidate lists are uploaded on hprca.hp.gov.in before the exam. Candidates should check their application status regularly.
Computer Based Test (CBT) / Written Exam
120 MCQs of 120 marks, 1.5 hours. Minimum qualifying: 45% for General, 40% for SC/ST/OBC/WFF. Scores normalized using Z-Score Method if held in multiple shifts.
Provisional Answer Key & Objections
Provisional answer key published after CBT. Candidates get 7 days to raise objections at ₹200 per challenge. Final answer key declared after expert panel review.
Merit List Preparation
Category-wise merit list prepared based on CBT marks. A category-wise waiting panel is also prepared (10% of posts since total is above 50) for one year from the date of recommendation. Department/district allocation made on Merit-cum-Option-cum-Availability formula.
Document Verification (DV)
Shortlisted candidates called for DV. Original certificates, self-attested photocopies, printed ORA form required. Eligibility determined on basis of original documents produced. No offline form accepted.

Sign Up on HPRCA Portal
Visit hprca.hp.gov.in and click "Sign Up" to create a username and password. Application window opens 16 March 2026 at 10:00 AM.
Complete One-Time Registration (OTR)
Fill in personal information, educational qualifications, work experience (if any). Upload scanned passport-size photograph (JPG/JPEG/PNG, max 1 MB, not older than 1 month) and signature (JPG/JPEG/PNG, max 1 MB). Upload supporting documents.
Complete / Update Profile
Only candidates with complete OTR profile can apply for posts. Update any details if required before proceeding.

Confirm Application Details

Pay Application Fee Online
Pay ₹800 via Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking through the official payment gateway. No offline mode. Fee is non-refundable.
Submit & Save Confirmation
After successful payment, your application is complete. Download/print the ORA form. Carry it with original documents at the time of document verification.
Documents Required at Document Verification
- All certificates must be in the prescribed format — failing which the candidature is liable to be rejected.
- Category once claimed cannot be changed after the correction window closes.
- Suppression of any material information shall render the candidature liable to cancellation.
- SC/ST certificate must be on parental basis — certificate not on parental basis will be rejected.
- Candidates must submit a written declaration regarding any past conviction by a Court of law.
