🔥 Big Jump — 5,000 Posts vs 2,700 Last Year

Bank of Baroda has nearly doubled its apprentice intake in 2026 — from 2,700 posts in 2025 to 5,000 posts this year. This is the largest BOB Apprentice drive in recent cycles, creating significantly more opportunities for fresh graduates across all states. With more seats available, but also a likely larger applicant pool (BOB apprentice routinely attracts 5–8 lakh applicants), focused preparation for the online examination remains critical.

NAPS & NATS — Mandatory Pre-Registration Step
Register on either NAPS or NATS before applying — this is the first step, not optional
NAPS
National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme
Managed by Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India

NAPS covers graduates who completed their degree from any recognised university under any discipline. Most fresh graduates who have no prior apprenticeship history should register here. The NAPS portal is suitable for candidates who want to apply directly from their graduation credential without being part of a specific AICTE/university-approved technical programme.

apprenticeshipindia.gov.in
NATS
National Apprenticeship Training Scheme
Managed by Ministry of Education (AICTE / Board of Apprenticeship Training), Government of India

NATS is specifically for Engineering and Technology graduates from AICTE-approved institutions. If you hold a B.E., B.Tech, or similar technical degree from an AICTE-recognised college, NATS is your applicable portal. Note: For NATS-registered candidates, the graduation must not be more than 4 years before the cut-off date of 01 May 2026 — meaning graduation must be from May 2022 onwards.

nats.education.gov.in
📚 How to Use NAPS/NATS for BOB Apprentice 2026
  • Visit the applicable portal (NAPS or NATS based on your degree type) and complete registration using your educational details and Aadhaar-linked information
  • After registration, search for "Bank of Baroda" as the establishment and apply for the apprenticeship opportunity listed there
  • You will receive a registration/application number from the portal — keep this handy as it is required to fill the BOB application form
  • After completing the NAPS/NATS step, visit bankofbaroda.bank.in → Careers or the bfsissc.com portal to complete your application form and pay the fee
  • The NAPS/NATS step and the BOB application form are two different steps — completing only one will not make your application valid

🚫 Critical Disqualifying Conditions — Read Before Applying
  • Prior apprenticeship anywhere is disqualifying: Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act 1961 — whether with Bank of Baroda or any other organisation — are NOT eligible
  • Currently pursuing apprenticeship is disqualifying: Candidates who are currently engaged as apprentices in any organisation cannot apply
  • Post-qualification experience of 1+ year is disqualifying: Candidates who have had job experience or training for a period of one year or more after attaining their graduation qualification are NOT eligible — the apprenticeship is designed for those with little to no post-degree work experience
  • Final-year graduation students are NOT eligible: The graduation result must already have been declared — provisional certificates or mark sheets with "result awaited" status are not accepted
  • One state only: A candidate can apply for only one state/UT — attempting to apply for multiple states will result in all applications being invalidated

  • Week 2 — Quant and Reasoning daily practice: Solve 40 questions of Quant (DI + Arithmetic) and 20 questions of Reasoning every day. Use previous BOB Apprentice papers and banking exam mock tests from platforms like Testbook, Oliveboard, or Adda247.
  • Week 3 — English + Computer + Mock Tests: Complete revision of English grammar rules, practice 5 reading comprehension passages, revise computer basics. Take 3–5 full-length mock tests of 60 minutes under timed conditions — analyse mistakes.
  • No negative marking advantage: Attempt every single question. Even for uncertain questions, eliminating 2 options and guessing gives a 50% chance — better than 0% from leaving blank.
07
Selection Process — All Stages Explained
Written Exam → Document Verification → Language Test → Medical — no interview round
1

Stage 1 — Online Written Examination

All eligible applicants are admitted to the Computer Based Online Written Test provisionally based on their declared information. The exam has 100 MCQ questions, 100 marks, 60 minutes, with no negative marking. The exam is bilingual — English and Hindi (except English section). Candidates are shortlisted for DV based on state-wise and category-wise merit in the online exam. Scores below the cut-off (decided by the bank) are not eligible for DV. Admit card is released via email and on the bfsissc.com portal — download using Registration Number and Date of Birth.

2

Stage 2 — Document Verification

Candidates shortlisted on state-wise and category-wise merit in the online test are called for Document Verification at a centre within their applied state/UT — candidates bear their own travel costs to the DV venue (BOB does not reimburse). All original documents must be produced — graduation certificate and marksheets, DOB proof, category certificate, NAPS/NATS registration proof, Aadhaar card, and recent photographs. Eligibility is formally confirmed at DV — candidates whose actual credentials do not match their application data are eliminated. A wait list is published to fill vacancies arising from non-acceptance or disqualification.

3

Stage 3 — Local Language Proficiency Test

This is a qualifying-in-nature test conducted at the DV stage — candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the official/local language of the state they applied for. The test assesses reading, writing, speaking, and understanding ability in the state language. For example, a candidate who applied for Maharashtra must show proficiency in Marathi; an AP candidate must show Telugu proficiency. Candidates who fail the language test are disqualified even if they cleared the online exam. This is a mandatory requirement of the Apprentices Act framework under NAPS/NATS.

4

Stage 4 — Medical Examination & Final Engagement

Candidates who clear all three prior stages undergo a pre-engagement medical examination to confirm fitness for banking operations. Selected candidates are engaged as Apprentices for a 1-year period at a branch within their applied state/UT — allocated based on merit, stated preferences, and seat availability. The Bank reserves the right to post apprentices to any location within the state if preferred centres are full. Training begins with formal induction and branch operations exposure.

Frequently Asked Questions
Bank of Baroda Apprentice Recruitment 2026 — all common queries answered
How many posts are there in Bank of Baroda Apprentice Recruitment 2026?+
Bank of Baroda has announced 5,000 Apprentice posts across India under Advertisement No. released 19 May 2026. This is a significant increase from the 2,700 posts in 2025. The vacancies are distributed state-wise and category-wise across all states and union territories. The state-wise and category-wise detailed vacancy breakup is available in the official notification PDF at bankofbaroda.bank.in.
Do I need to register on NAPS or NATS before applying for BOB Apprentice 2026?+
Yes — this is mandatory and non-negotiable. Registration on either the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) or the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in) must be completed before you can fill the Bank of Baroda application form. Without a NAPS/NATS registration number, the BOB application portal will not accept your form. Register on NAPS if you are a general graduate. Register on NATS if you are an Engineering/Technology graduate from an AICTE-recognised institution.
Is Bank of Baroda Apprentice 2026 a permanent government job?+
No. The Bank of Baroda Apprentice programme is a 1-year training engagement under the Apprentices Act 1961 — not a permanent job. Selected candidates receive a monthly stipend (not salary), are designated as apprentice trainees, and are not entitled to PF, HRA, medical, or other employee benefits. There is no guarantee of permanent employment with Bank of Baroda after the apprenticeship. However, completing the programme provides an Apprenticeship Certificate, banking experience, and a significant competitive advantage in future banking recruitment exams.
What is the stipend for Bank of Baroda Apprentice 2026?+
The monthly stipend during the 1-year apprenticeship is: ₹15,000 per month for apprentices posted at Metro and Urban branches, and ₹12,000 per month for those posted at Rural and Semi-Urban branches. The stipend is paid at the end of each completed month after adjusting for any Loss of Pay due to unauthorised absence. No additional allowances, benefits, or deductions (PF/IT) apply to the stipend structure.
I worked at a company for 8 months after graduation. Am I eligible for BOB Apprentice 2026?+
Yes, you are eligible — the restriction is on post-qualification experience of one year or more. If your post-graduation work experience is less than one year (8 months in your case), you are not disqualified on this criterion. However, if your work experience was specifically under the Apprentices Act 1961 (i.e., you were formally engaged as an apprentice at any organisation), that would disqualify you regardless of duration.
What is the application fee for BOB Apprentice 2026?+
Based on the established pattern across recent BOB Apprentice cycles: ₹800 + GST for General, OBC-NCL, and EWS candidates; ₹400 + GST for PwBD candidates; and NIL (exempted) for SC/ST candidates. Payment is made online only via Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI. The fee is non-refundable once paid. Verify the exact fee from the 2026 official notification PDF as amounts can vary by cycle.
Can I choose the branch or city where I will be posted as a BOB Apprentice?+
You have partial control over your posting. When filling the application, you select one state/UT and can mention up to 3 preferred training locations or centres within that state. The actual seat allotment is based on your exam merit, your location preferences, and seat availability at those locations. If none of your 3 preferred locations have available seats for your merit rank, the bank reserves the right to allot you to any other location within your applied state where vacancies exist. You cannot refuse the alternate posting and remain in the programme.
Is there negative marking in the BOB Apprentice 2026 Online Test?+
No — there is absolutely no negative marking. The online written examination has 100 questions for 100 marks in 60 minutes, and wrong answers carry zero penalty. This means candidates should attempt all 100 questions without any fear of losing marks for incorrect answers. Even for questions you are uncertain about, attempting them based on elimination improves your score. Focus on accuracy but never leave any question unattempted.
What is the Local Language Proficiency Test in BOB Apprentice selection?+
The Local Language Proficiency Test is conducted at the Document Verification stage. It assesses your ability to read, write, speak, and understand the official/local language of the state you applied for. This is a qualifying test — failing it eliminates you from the selection process. For example, if you applied for Karnataka, you need to demonstrate Kannada proficiency. For Tamil Nadu, Tamil proficiency is required. This rule is intended to ensure apprentices can effectively serve customers in their posted branches.
What documents do I need for BOB Apprentice Document Verification 2026?+
At Document Verification, you must produce originals and self-attested photocopies of: Graduation degree certificate and marksheets (all years/semesters), Date of Birth proof (Class 10 certificate), category certificate (OBC-NCL/SC/ST/EWS/PwBD as applicable — current year validity required), NAPS or NATS registration certificate or proof of registration, valid Aadhaar card, any experience certificate if you have worked (to confirm it is less than 1 year), and recent passport-size photographs. Note: Bank of Baroda does not reimburse travel expenses incurred for attending Document Verification.
