How to Apply Online — Step-by-Step
NAPS mandatory first → Apply at sbi.co.in → Pay fee → Registration complete — closes 8 June 2026
1

MANDATORY — Visit bfsissc.com First & Read NAPS Guidelines

Before anything else, visit https://bfsissc.com and carefully read the detailed guidelines on how to register on the NAPS (National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme) portal. These guidelines explain the NAPS registration process, required documents, and how it links to the SBI application. Do not skip this step — without understanding NAPS, you will be unable to complete the SBI application process correctly.

2

MANDATORY — Register on NAPS Portal: apprenticeshipindia.gov.in

Go to https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and register as a candidate (apprentice seeker). Complete your profile with personal details, educational qualifications, and contact information. This NAPS registration is compulsory and must be done before applying on the SBI careers portal. Note your NAPS registration number — you will need it during the SBI application. Without NAPS registration, you cannot complete the SBI apprenticeship application.

3

Apply Online at sbi.co.in/careers or sbi.bank.in/web/careers/current-openings

After NAPS registration, go to www.sbi.co.in/careers OR sbi.bank.in/web/careers/current-openings. Find Advertisement No. CRPD/APPR/2026-27/07 — Engagement of Apprentices 2026. Click "Apply Online" / "Register Now". You will be required to enter your NAPS registration details during the SBI application process.

4

Fill Personal, Educational Details — Choose State, Language & 3 District Preferences

Fill in all personal details, educational qualifications, and category. Most critically: select the state you want to apply for (only one) and choose one local language from the state's listed languages. Also select 3 preferred districts within your chosen state for training posting. These selections cannot be changed after submission. Ensure you genuinely know the local language chosen — it is tested in the exam.

5

Upload Photo & Signature in Prescribed Format

Upload a recent passport-size colour photograph (as specified — light background, clear face) and scanned signature in the prescribed JPG/JPEG format within specified file size. The photograph should be recent — not older than 3 months. Ensure the photograph shows a clear, recognisable face — the same photo will appear on your admit card.

6

Frequently Asked Questions
Complete Q&A — SBI Apprentice Recruitment 2026 — Advt. CRPD/APPR/2026-27/07
What is the last date to apply for SBI Apprentice Recruitment 2026?+
The last date to apply online and pay the application fee is 08 June 2026. Applications opened on 19 May 2026. Apply through sbi.co.in/careers or sbi.bank.in/web/careers/current-openings. Remember: the registration is complete ONLY when the fee is paid online on or before 8 June 2026. Filling the form without fee payment does NOT constitute a valid registration. Also, you must first register on NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) before applying at SBI.
What is the NAPS portal? Why is registration mandatory?+
NAPS stands for National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme — it is the Government of India's centralised portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in for managing all apprenticeship engagements across industries. As SBI apprentice engagement is under the Apprentices Act, 1961, it is governed through NAPS. The SBI notification explicitly states: "It is mandatory for all Candidates to register mandatorily on NAPS portal https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in before moving on to Applying Online through the link given on SBI website." First visit bfsissc.com for step-by-step NAPS registration guidance, then register at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in, and only then apply at SBI.
Can I apply for multiple states in SBI Apprentice 2026?+
No. The official notification states: "Candidates can apply for engagement in one state only." Additionally, "Candidates can appear for the examination only once under this engagement project." Once you select a state and submit the application, no change is permitted. Choose your state carefully — ideally a state where you know the local language well, as the language test carries marks in the examination. Multiple applications or applying for multiple states will result in disqualification.
What is the qualification required for SBI Apprentice 2026? Is 12th pass eligible?+
The minimum qualification is Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government. 12th pass (intermediate) candidates are NOT eligible — a bachelor's degree (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.Tech., BCA, BBA, or any other graduation) is mandatory. No minimum percentage is specified — just completion of the graduation degree. Knowledge of the local language of the applied state is also mandatory.
What is the age limit for SBI Apprentice 2026?+
Age is calculated as on 01.04.2026. For General (UR) and EWS candidates: minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years — meaning candidates must have been born between 02 April 1998 and 01 April 2006 (both dates inclusive). OBC-NCL candidates: maximum 31 years. SC/ST candidates: maximum 33 years. PwBD (General) candidates: maximum 38 years. PwBD (OBC): 41 years. PwBD (SC/ST): 43 years.
What is the application fee for SBI Apprentice 2026?+
The application fee is ₹300/- for General (UR), OBC (NCL), and EWS candidates. SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are completely exempt from paying the application fee. Payment is through online mode only (Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI) via the SBI careers portal. The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances once paid.
When will the SBI Apprentice exam 2026 be held?+
The online examination is tentatively scheduled in the month of July 2026. The exact date will be notified separately by SBI on its official website (sbi.co.in). Admit cards will be made available for download on the SBI careers portal. Candidates should monitor sbi.co.in regularly for the exam date announcement and admit card availability.
Is the SBI Apprentice a permanent job?+
No — it is not a permanent job. The engagement is under the Apprentices Act, 1961 — it is a 1-year training engagement (apprenticeship), not a permanent bank position. The training does not create any right to regular employment in SBI. However, completing the SBI apprenticeship provides valuable banking experience, an NAPS/BFSISSC apprenticeship completion certificate, and significantly enhances your profile for future SBI and IBPS recruitment exams where banking experience is advantageous.
Can I change my state, category, or local language after submitting the application?+
No — absolutely not. The notification explicitly states: "PLEASE NOTE THAT CHANGE OF CATEGORY WILL NOT BE PERMITTED AFTER REGISTRATION OF ONLINE APPLICATION." Similarly, the state selected and the local language opted cannot be changed after submission. These are final and irrevocable choices. Review your state selection, category, and language preference extremely carefully before clicking "Submit" — incorrect choices cannot be reversed under any circumstances.
Which state has the most SBI Apprentice vacancies in 2026?+
The states with the most training seats are: Andhra Pradesh — 709 seats (Telugu/Urdu), Uttar Pradesh — 561 seats (Hindi/Urdu), Maharashtra — 504 seats (Marathi), Telangana — 491 seats (Telugu/Urdu), West Bengal — 460 seats (Bengali/Nepali), and Kerala — 403 seats (Malayalam). States with the fewest seats: Manipur (6), Meghalaya (8), Goa (16), UT Chandigarh (15), UT Ladakh (15). Competition will generally be higher in states with fewer seats relative to applicants.
