Reservation for SC / ST / OBC / PwD candidates is applicable as per Apprentices Act guidelines. Candidates claiming reservation benefits must produce valid caste/disability certificates in the prescribed Central Government format. Candidates without valid certificates in prescribed format will be considered under General / Unreserved category.
Candidates hailing from states/UTs other than Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Puducherry are not eligible to apply for HVF Avadi Apprenticeship 2026-27 under this notification. Applications from ineligible states will be rejected.

Age limit is as per Apprenticeship Rules 1992 as amended. Minimum age: 14 years. Maximum age and relaxations for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-servicemen as per Government rules under the Apprentices Act. Exact age cut-off as per official notification.

There is no application fee for HVF Avadi Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27 for any category — General, SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD. The application is submitted completely free through the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in). Candidates are advised to beware of unauthorised agents — Board of Apprenticeship Training (Southern Region) has not authorised any individual or agency to collect fees on its behalf.
Merit Shortlisting Based on Qualifying Exam Marks
Candidates are shortlisted purely on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination (BE/B.Tech/Diploma/BA/BSc/BCom etc.). No written test or interview. Higher marks = better chance of shortlisting. Percentage/CGPA must be correctly entered in NATS portal. CGPA should be converted using ×10 formula (e.g., CGPA 8.5 = 85%). Applications without percentage will not be considered.
Shortlisted Candidates List — 30 April 2026
HVF Avadi will declare the list of shortlisted candidates on 30 April 2026. Shortlisting is done category-wise and discipline-wise. Candidates are advised to regularly check the NATS portal and their registered email for updates. No individual notification letters are sent.
Certificate Verification at HVF Avadi — 06 to 08 May 2026 (Tentative)
Shortlisted candidates must attend Certificate Verification at Heavy Vehicles Factory, Avadi, Chennai – 600 054 with all original documents. No TA/DA is admissible. No boarding or lodging facilities are provided by HVF. Attendance at own expense. Dates are tentative and may change — confirm from NATS portal.
Final Selection & Apprenticeship Offer
Candidates who successfully clear document verification are issued an Apprenticeship Training offer. Training commences at HVF Avadi for one year. On successful completion, candidates receive the National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from BOAT (Southern Region).
- Non-Engineering Graduate (250 seats) has the highest vacancy — strong marks in 2024/2025 with accurate NATS data entry = best shortlisting chance
- Register on NATS portal early — do not wait until last date
- Ensure percentage is entered correctly — applications with 0% or blank percentage are auto-rejected
- Upload Provisional Certificate or Consolidated Mark Sheet — either is accepted

Caste/Community certificates must be in the prescribed format for Central Government jobs. Certificates in State Government format or without OBC-NCL declaration are not accepted. Candidates without valid certificates in correct format will be treated as General / Unreserved category.

New Registration / Login
If you are a new user, click "Enroll" and complete registration with your Name, Email ID, Mobile Number, Date of Birth, and Qualification details. If already registered, simply log in with your email and password.
Complete Your NATS Profile
After login, complete your profile by entering educational qualification details, percentage/CGPA, domicile state, contact details. Ensure CGPA is converted to percentage using CGPA × 10 formula. Applications with blank or 0% will be rejected.
Click "Apply Against Advertised Vacancies"
From your dashboard, click the "Apply against advertised vacancies" option. This shows all currently open apprenticeship vacancies on NATS portal.
Search for "HEAVY VEHICLES FACTORY"
In the search box, type "HEAVY VEHICLES FACTORY" or enter User ID STNTLC000004. The HVF Avadi 2026-27 vacancy will appear. Select the correct post category.
Click Apply & Upload Documents
Click the "Apply" button. Upload your Provisional Certificate or Consolidated Mark Sheet. The status will change to "Applied". Ensure percentage of marks is correctly entered in the "% of marks / CGPA × 10" column.
Submit & Confirm
Review all details carefully before final submission. Submit the application. Take a printout / screenshot of the confirmation page for your records. No application fee is required.
